I installed the game, patched it with the U-Boat update, now when I go to play it asks for me to activate the product. I enter the serial # on the back page of the paper manual and I get an error code saying invalid or wrong key. I have typed it with lower and upper case, used the - mark between the keys and not, still getting the error.

Is there a fix to this or can I finally trash SH 4 once and for all?

Thanks

first, we need info to help you

where did you get it from?

is it a download version or on disk?

have you contacted the store where you got it?

if its a disk version have you talked to ubisoft support?

I have been assigned to MacArthur's headquarters. He has issued an order. He ordered (he never asks, the SOB) that it be conveyed to the fleet forthwith.

To: Fleet Command
From: Adm. Nimitz

The request for the transfer or resignation of Captain simsurfer is:

DENIED!:salute:

It's been so long since I installed I am not sure. But isn't the "key" for the 1.5 uboat add on different? Especially if you downloaded it. The code/key on the manual at least in my case is only for SH4 not the uboat add-on. But as Webster said, more details can get you an answer from someone that has the same version. I hear there was a version combining SH4 with the Uboat add-on. Mine wasn't.

Peabody, you are a smart man, I was entering the wrong serial #. I looked back into my webmail account, found the e-mail from direct2drive for the uboat add-on and entered that serial # and all is now good. It didnt even dawn on me that that was what it was.

Thanks, and will be downloading mods soon, though I am playing un modded right now.

Happy to help. I also think you should play unmodded first, just so you know what the stock game is like. Then when you add MODs you can decide for yourself if it is an improvement or not. If you never play stock, you don't have anything to compare it to.

Also a suggestion, burn that download to a CD and also burn a text file with that serial number or write it on the CD. I did both, didn't take me long to misplace the printout of the email with the number on it.

I have a trunk full of gold coins that I can't unlock. How busy are you? (If he ever calls in his favors, we're screwed.)
