View Full Version : Windows Vista annoying problem

I don't remember where I read it, or the exact way of doing this, but as an administrator of my computer, where can I turn off the annoying "Are you sure you want to do this?" question that pops up everytime I try to do anything?

For instance, I'm modifying Pirates of the Caribbean, (in one of those moods) and when it's in the C:/Program Files/POTC directory, it will not let me save changes in the notepad editor, so I have to drag the text document outside to say, my desktop, save it there. Then Click and drag it back up to the correct folder, where it then again asks me if I'm sure I want to do this.

I had it selected so it never did it before, but after backing up my important stuff and reformatting my harddrive and reinstalling Win Vista, and not being able to remember how to do it again, I'm going crazy :damn::damn:

I wonder how many more months untill Microsoft starts denying the existance of vista.

Thanks a lot  I had the same problem (though having Vista installed is the main problem). Hopfefully Windows 7 will not have this sort of bugging.

Have had nothing but trouble and annoyance with Vista. XP is better, but still pretty ****.

No, what I am saying is that Vista is a bloated overly protective piece of **** which assumes the end user is retarded, which pisses me off. Allso I prefer my OS to at least resemble functinality, which is something vista fails at uterly.

Edit: I am a computer technician mainly specializing in hardware, sort of a hobby of mine, but have worked some related jobs in the past.

I only started playing with computers since 2004 and I can't think that Slow. :03:

I have Vista Ultimate 64 as well XP on a dual boot for older sims.

I just tweaked Vista and don't have any probs.

XP is and old OS for old Sims DX9

Sh5 will look like crap on XP.

XP & Vista for me not going near Windows 7 as i no longer will buy a MS OS' I'll stick with XP and Vista as long as games can run on them. I use windows (I have no choice being a gamer) but Bill gates is a creep he once said in an interview that Linux is a virus developed by virus creators. Meanwhile we all fork out $100's of dollars to buy MS OS's while Linux is available for free, unless you want the fancy box and manual you might have to pay no more than $40 for the OS.

Damn i wish Linux could run games like Windows i would drop windows in an instant!

Linux is only free if your time is worthless.. :D

And that told me a guy I know who works as Unix admin for Lockheed at the I-270 corridor and teaches Linux scripting on the side.

Being a gamester I keep up with the times Hardware and Software Wize.

DX10 ishere to stay and 11 is on the way.

I like XP for DX9 Sims but I also have sims that take advanage of DX10 so Vista.

I also appreciate that some have money concerns and can't afford both.

With a few tweaks here and there Vista is a great OS, straight out of the box maybe not. No need to upgrade and spend $100's on another OS.

I worked with vista for a good while now... win7 is much more user friendly. it does what i want it todo and older programs that don't work in vista work in win7.. :D
