How to determine AOB on ACM?

I`m a ACM user and I was wondering how to determine aob when it`s exceeds 90 degrees.

Those who are familiar with this mod know that many times when they count the horizontal lines to get the aob the number of lines exceeds the 90 on finder and when I zoom out AP i do not know from where to count vertical lines.
OLC was relised the good tutorial but they had the Scratch mark for the out zoomed Ap .
But ACM thas not have it so what is the scartch mark here?

They have the red and black marker.The red should be to determine the ships speed and i tried to use it for calculations for out zoomed Ap but unsuccessfuly.

If the horizontal size mark is to the left of the 90 degrees (at the top) then something went wrong. It should allways be to the right of it. (unless the AOB is realy really small, between 1 and about 10 degrees) Even if the real AOB is known to be between 90 and 180 degrees. The calculation device cannot tell the difference between AOB 30 vs. AOB 150, or AOB 70 vs. AOB 110, or AOB 45 vs. AOB 135. In short: if the real AOB is beyond 90 degrees, but the device measured it being x , take the number 180-x as AOB. But this is not you problem.

In your case you either used the wrong mastheight value for that particular ship. Or you didn't exactly measure from the waterline. Or took the wrong point on the ship to measure as 'mastheight'. Or you used the wrong length for that particular ship. If possible try to surface and ask your watchofficer for a range, and compare that to your periscope image size. Did you by any chance include mods of new ships? Often the modder neglected to change the recognition manual values.

I do not know if the ACM mod has zoom modes or not (but if you say so :) ). Back when OLC had 2 zoom modes in his mod their difference was a size factor of 4. Meaning the image looked 4 times larger than the lower zoom setting. In the range/AOB procedure this required (only for low zoom mode) setting the observed mastsize to just under 15 degrees, and later before reading the AOB value, dragging that 15 degrees point backup to 90 degrees. But if ACM uses different magnifications (to be more precise, a different ratio of the magnifications, i.e. in OLC it was x1.5/ x6 = 0.25 = 14.5 degrees) then this 15 degrees point is no longer valid.

To check which degree number you should use instead of the 15 degree mark: measure the mastheight when zoomed in, then set this value above 90 (don't move it anymore for this), then measure again when zoomed out, look up the degree point next to the (lower) mastheight size on the wheel.

p.s. Unless the ship image you see is too big to measure, there is no point in zooming out. Zooming in you are more accurate.
