What's the largest convoy you've fought?

Course an RSRD question. Haven't gone through all of Lurker's file, so not sure what the largest one is. The Java invasion force was about 50 ships.

Often two large convoys or TF meet or pass near each other in RSRD showing up to 80 contacts. Had this happen a few times. Had two large TF's pass each other with me in the middle....

Course it's not fun having 20 escorts attacking you....or is it.

Just started a new career and facing numerous ships, my guess about 50 spead out over 30NM's.

What's the largest you've fought and where. I chased the Java invasion force for almost 500 miles fighting it....that was fun.

I dont actualy know... the convoy was reported as large... I was sneaking in... the ship tally had got high... then all of all of a suddent... the night got really bright... and loud...

shells filled the sky, and searchlights all turnt my way...

well... you know what I did...

I did what any sensable person would do...

(got about 6 good sized ships out of that convoy... the distroyers kept messing me up...)

I once came across a TF w/BOTH the Musashi and Yamato in it, like 4 fleet carriers, a couple of smaller ones, numerous cruisers, and LOTS of destroyers.

Of course, I didn't have a single fish on me at this point.

Task Force and Convoys are different, if BB's and Carriers in them, Task Force, just FYI.

I ran into in a convoy in TMO with 31 ships, of course I created it with the ME in the 1944 campaign layers but made so its random, sometimes may have 10 or 15, sometimes up to 40 ships and 3 DD's.

Very rare , low low chance of spawning, I found it fairly easy because it was so large, I got into the middle of it, popped up and attacked(100 realism)...by the time any escorts got to where I had been, it was over, they never found me and in optimal sonar conditions, I was chilling out at 500 feet.:salute:

Today i spotted a Convoy, havent had the pleasure more then 1 or 2 times before, so i got really excited. Intercepted it some time after.

Periscope up! that wich followed after left my jaw dropped to the floor, 2 destroyer escorts, and 25! JUNKS??! What the?! i began to cry as i crept down beneath the waves.

about 10 ships. Every time I see one I fail to intercept it. SSW, NNE, W, etc. I have tried catching all kinds. It frustrates the hell out of me. I want my mone back. It's fraud, I say. Fraud!!! And, to make matters worse,

I KNOW these are not real posts. Ubisoft makes all of the captains' names up and created this fake website because they are out to get us. And it is secretly Japanese owned. (hint: Mits u b s i.) That's why the Japs always win, no matter how many boats we sink. They own the company and are trying to rewrite history. Next, they are going to want Hawaii back. They already own most of it, and soon they will ask for a referendum on sesession from the union, authorize annexation by Japan, make Saki the national drink, Akitas the national dog, force everyone to own and use a Japanese camera, eat whale meat, outlaw beef, replace WWF (we all know that is the real stuff) with SUMO, buy Honda's and Toyotas, replace football with judo, eat Sushi, rename our merchant ships "maurus", remake (again) Godzilla, and make Ichiro the next president. I even heard that that want to create a new mod to replace FOTRS and call it ROTRS (Rise of The Rising Sun)!

I dont use RSRD but I just found a 23 ship TF heading east in the Java sea headed to Coral. 2 x Fuso and 2x Kongo class at the core.

Just ran into this. It's the Java Invasion force. Usually I catch it near Tawi Tawi, but found it near Java. It's on way back. Bad thing I'm in the rear, so gonna be a dern long end around. What I can't fit in the picture are 16 escorts way out on the flanks. Using TMO1.8 they can see you much further, so gonna be fun.

duuuaaahhh....:doh: that pic reminded me of when I ran inot some invasion force in sh4, in my S boat... there were 4 convoys following eatchother...:o I know there was well over 60 ships... includeing warships.

Lingayen Gulf December 21st 1941 Convoy of 30 plus ships, We manged to cause allot of mayhem before we ran out of torpedoes, the large freighters must have been full of munitions because they put up quite a light show :yeah:

I was in a Salmon. Chased that convoy for the last 2 hours. In 70ft water.
Finally at night I get in the middle. Perfect setup for all tubes..really couldn't miss with overlapping targets...

All F'in duds but one torp..Funny, it blew up one merchant and the one next to it blew up from the explosion., but now have a dozen escorts on me. Thankfully rough weather, but all a waste. Wish I would've carried nothing but M10's.

Rotten duds..... We snuck into Saigon harbour on the surface, moonless night, found one large tanker and one large freighter, Duck shots, fired two fish at each one all four duds :nope:.

Made up for it though, while attacking a convoy disabled a destroyer with one torpedo amidship. He went dead in the water right in the path of a freighter who made a hard port turn to avoid him, fired my last fish into the freighter, the explosion triggered more explosions on the destroyer which in turn I think caused more secondary explosions on the freighter, they both went down :rock:

I love when that happens. I got peod and reused my save point. Still had nothing but duds, but one Torp took out 3 other ships. First time I sunk 4 with one torp....one was a escort, two large merchants and one small pass. ship. All blew at almost the same time, with all the contacts even brought my rigs frames way down. Only thing sunks is 4 sunk, still only get credit for the one you hit...not fair. I've had one extra sunk before due to damage, first time I got 4...course they knew I was there before and all milling around.
