I do not mind getting duplicate messages occasionally. But three or four duplicates is too much. And five, a new record set today, demonstrates that the notification system/software is out of control. I know Rockin Robbins is trying to drive me over the edge because my crew thinks I am the greatest and because I finally mastered the incredibly difficult Dick O'Kane method :D, but this is ridiculous.:wah:
Captain, USS Barbarinna. (now undergoing repairs because I was reading a damn duplicate meassage and did not observe a zero coming out of the Rising Sun!)

Webster, I am not sure why not? Open forum, means 1) open? 2) Partially open?
If I am getting multiple emails, either I am special (I am that), or several people may be getting them.
I was alerting forum members to the problem. I deserve a medal! You may be designated to award it.

It's a setting in your control panel. Fixed it for you.

IMO if you find a website issue it should be taken care of quietly one on one and not advertised to all. its not like its something to hide or keep secret but its not harmfull or something everyone should know to watch out for so doing things in private feels more respectfull to neal to do it that way and because its a type of issue that is best dealt with by a PM to neal or an administrator .

Instead of 20 messages from the forum, I only had two this morning. Looks like it has been resolved. Thanks

Hmmm, yet the forum description very clearly states "Having trouble with your forum account? Suggestions about the website?...". Seems to me that this forum is set up *exactly* for this kind of question...

Not sure where you're getting that from. Perhaps there were other people with the same problem and didn't know where to look. Now thanks to this thread people know to change the setting in the control panel.

To think that I once wanted to serve in Webster's headquarters! :D (That comment is without prejudice to 4 of his mods that I am currently using.)

first I complained of multiple messages. You took care of that. Now I get hardly any messages that there have been posts in threads where I have posted. What's up with that? I am missing all of the news not fit to read...darn it.

All i would like is one notification per each post in the threads to which I subscribed. I can live with two notifications per post. Three is too many. I was getting up to five. :x And, doing my duty as a Captain in the Navy, I would click on each one of the notifications, thus being connected to the post that I had previously read, in the case of multiple notifications.:-?
