How the heck do you mistake that for an AK-47?! :88)

Not an AK-47 but yea I would react to that thing too.

It certainly doesn't look like an AK-47, but from a distance it looks prety real,
especially to someone with no knowledge about guns, or halo 3.

I think the police responded properly and based on the article were professional about it after.

How someone confuses that for an Ak47 is beyond me.

Looks real to me. That is all that is needed to get a reaction. Can't say as I blame them. Better safe than sorry. :D

This just in: Not everyone in nation is a wtfl33tbbq gun expert or HALO3 player, and thus may not know every single gun in existence; mistakes may occur. This also in, police say they actually respond when they get reports of assault rifles being carried openly.

News at ten.

You're not serious, are you? :06:

Police response is proper, but the situation is kinda funny because it's an oversized replica. I would have told the 911 operator that someone was carrying a cannon down the street. :haha:

That makes this besides the point, but: Noone expects everyone to know every model, but most know what an AK looks like.

99% of the people in the Seattle metropolitan area don't even know wtf a AK-47 is much less looks like. IMHO of course.

Then how come the woman identified it as an AK-47? She must have known it to do so. :D ;)

Don't turn this into something serious, we've got enough political threads already. Next thing you know it's about gun-control. :rotfl:

Just ment as something lighthearted. :salute:

:yep:

I build replica weapons out of wood and pipe, and I still paint red tips on the "Barrels" in case there was a misunderstanding/misidentification.

hoo boy, I made a replica of a Solothurn S-18-1000 that was over 6 feet long!
I would like to get my hands on a HALO replica sniper rifle though, impressive!
