What a way to start off the season.:yeah:

So what was your favorite duck football moment? hearing the croud chant "O"ver-rated! Seeing security throw duck football payers out! ESPN's commentators calling the ducks offense impotent:) Ducks fighting among themselves lol, Drunk duck fans after a crushing loss. Even with 80+ uniform combinations, the ducks can't even beat a WAC team lol

Not a college football guy. I just can't get into a game whose ranking system amounts to a popularity contest.

I got to watch college football for the 1st time last night as my cable company signed a deal with espn. What a great game too, Boise vs Oregon. Lots of fumbles, missed field goals and extra point attempts.
It was just like watching my beloved Raiders, only with a bit more player passion for the game. :D

Now that made me laugh. Normally, that would be +8 for you, but you use the King's English and the 'Pearl Harbour' comment in the Buchanan thread did not escape my notice, so now you are only down 2 points.

Aside, are you playing fantasy this year? I had thought about joining Niki's league, but figured that I would probably not have the time for it once the semester got underway. This teaching and research diad is far more taxing that I thought it would be.

I do try to blend in and use spelling like harbor and color...but it just doesn't look right. Driving on the right side of the road when I was over in the states last October was punishment enough.
I'm not playing fantasy football this year but I did start my own predict the Raiders season this year. I did consider posting it up on here, but found my predictions far too depressing (6-10 at best if memory serves). Also trying to face the prospect of playing the Eagles this year, which would be bad enough at any time but my brother for his sins is an Eagles fan. You just know they're going to show the game over here live and the Raiders will be stuffed well and truly.
Oh and if anyone happens to see a defensive line, please kindly return it to Al Davis.

I saw that after the game. He attacked his own teammates, the opposing player and tried to get at some of the fans. He seemed upset about something.

LOL too much truth in this post.

I live in a colledge town, if it werent for the Colledge and their athletics program Id be out of work.

So I have a vicarious interest in the game.

What gets my goat is the perception of Colledge football as an 'amateur' sport. With the amount of money and management involved, let alone the cheating and abborent recruiting practices. It is definatly a professional enterprise.

I love college football in the US. The spirit of the players and the students in the stands is contageous.

College football is the best sport out there. This remains remarkably true in the face of all the money, "fame" and hype that comes with it and has been the case for many years.

Sorry--I've never been much of a soccer fan. Too much up and back for little or no apparent reason--or result. The best I can say is that watching it is better than watching golf.

I was only a marginal college football fan until I went to Michigan. There is nothing like a Saturday game in Ann Arbor or Austin.
