I saw this on Drudge: http://blogs.courant.com/capitol_watch/2009/09/connecticut-budget-solitaire-photo.html
House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk, far right, speaks while colleagues play solitaire on their computers as the House convenes to vote on a new budget for the fiscal year in the Capitol on Monday
I may suprise people with this but I've got to say ... so what?
Okay, so the baseball game may have been a bit much but, to be honest, I've been on countless conference calls where I've mindlessly played games such as solitaire while paying attention whole-mindedly. Doing something with my hands and reflexively by sight helps me focus.
On the other hand, politicians should be smart enough to realize that this kind of crap is terrible PR and that the crunching of budget numbers is far more involving than your average conference call.
So, what say you, Subsim?
