View Full Version : Man, I just heard...SH5, for real!?!?! So what is our plan for this one?!?

Its been a long time...I had a hard time coming back after our community loses, I really couldnt bring my self to come back, it hurt too much.

But time passes, wounds heel, new challenges await us and there is nothing like feeling like part of a commuity that actually influences and makes a difference in the making of our game/sim. Being apart of something so great is motivation enough to come back.

So where are we, whats the plan, what do we know, what is our big campaign in directing this ship for SH5? Did they clean up where they fell short last time, did they adopt any of our mods and suggestion form SH4?

Do we have dynamically changing routes based on sub activity?

Does radar work this time?

Do we have the increased visual range, can we see smoke from over the horizon?

Is the AI smarter, better modeled...but remaining realistic?

Does the acoustics and thermocline model work better?

Does crew provide more valuable information?

Do they do their jobs better?

Is the air war content modeled more accurate?

Whats the odds of a persistent online campaign where we mainly play solo, but can run into other players at sea?

DO WE GET DDs FOR ONLINE SKIRMISHES!?!?!?!?

as of now all we have are wishes and hopes with endless questions nobody has answers for but doesnt it almost feel like your a kid again and christmas is coming :woot:

look to the stickies for updates and info as it is found

But still a MP campaign would be intresting.

Biggest problem to have human players cross paths in campaign mode.... is... (drum roll) time compression :(
Then theres other problems like, you have to happen to be in the same place at the same time on the same day/month/year....
And yes, some bastard might back stab / sink you just for a laugh.

Multiplayer missions with playable escorts would be something else...It really does need to be revisited - and its something they should really consider for an expansion if they didnt do it for the stock game already.
