Greetings
Have been away from Subsim for quite some time but hope to return to the community.
Am currently at sea (day-22) in U-581, a Type VIIC on her first patrol, using GWX 2.1, and playing DiD (both Dead is Dead and Dumb is Done - more on that in a bit). It's April 1943, the weather is typical North Atlantic - atrocious with continuous storms for the last 11 days. Have so far sunk a 10-thousand tonner sailing alone and in a surface attack last night sank a troop ship that turned out to be a hospital ship. Her lights should have been a giveaway but it was a difficult approach using hydrophone and (a first for me in SH3) radar as well as intermittent visual observations. I was so proud when two of the three torpedo salvo actually hit.
Somehow D'oh just doesn't say it all, hence the Dumb is Done injunction.
Spent a week or so enjoying the scenery on the lovely Rockall Bank, visited many times a day by those nice young men with Wabo's-R-Us (aka Coastal Command) but so far their delivery has been off. Returning now to St. Nazaire have stumbled on a large inbound convoy and have commenced real time operations against it.
Hopefully, the Wife will understand that this should take priority over her online Scrabble games...
