Hi, and welcome aboard; try deleting the file and see if the install will go ahead. You have patched the game to 1.4b, I assume.
What operating system are you using? If Vista, check the Vista install sticky.

I downloaded GWX 3.0 tonight, via torrent, and I also get this error under Windows 7 x64 (build 7100). The file (or directory) doesn't exist, so there is nothing to remove.

I have checked that c:\temp (my global temp area) has 'all users' with 'full control', so I don't think it's a permissions problem.

Cheers,
Andy

Torrenting Silent Hunter III is no way to go.. :nope: No wonder you have problems! Silent Hunter III is worth the money, pirating is what kills PC gaming.

He didn't say he downloaded SH3! Just the GWX3 which is freeware
Althought you are correct that pirating kills PC gaming

Other than my sharp eyes, cant help with the problem.

LOL! No - I bought SH3 on DVD in June 2006 - and I still had many problems installing it last night on Windows 7 x64 - so you are wrong on both counts! :woot:

I have solved my problem with installing GWX 3.0; It was Kaspersky Anti-Virus - I temporarily 'paused protection' and GWX 3.0 installs fine. I ran it as Administrator, as that was necessary to get the official patch to install correctly.

Cheers,
Andy
