Hello folks ( smiles and waves) I have not been getting me boots wet for a while. Long story, lost dog last October ( Avatar), and just stopped regularly playing. Picking up a bit now ( been blasting goblins in Oblivion)and thought I would give dear old Rotbile a dip in the Channel again before she pops her rivets with boredom:yawn: - but all is not well and I get a ctd when I launch the game. I think it is because I reformatted the C: drive (but not the drive where SH3 lives) and the game saves are now looking to C: whereas before the reformat I had them parked on I. Despite copying the whole data folder over from I: ( and the chosen career is seen in Sh3),something is not happy, so I guess the best thing is to uninstall the game completely, reinstall and then put the patch and expansion(s) on - do I need to put GWX2.00 on and then 3, or can I just do GWX 3?

Trouble is, I can't see GWX anything in the Mods section. Can you point me to it please?

I see there is an SH5 among us now. Didn't know that. I shall be looking for deep opinions on it before I reach for the piggy bank.

All you need is GWX3.0 (available from the bottom FF link below my sig) and a fresh install of SH3 patched to 1.4b.

I would advise against using your past game saves....they'll probably not work anyway, therefore delete the SH3 folder which would usually be located in C\MyDocs.

gosh... thank you one and all. :)

I am off to bed now, but I shall probably be back here tomorrow on a new thread (after a visit to the dentist bbrrrr) as I have had a disastrous install experience. It all looked fine with a new install of vanilla seawolf on, but after gwx3, the Jones mod thingy, the patch and sh3 commander - oh, and nhancer were all in place, although the game loads, there are NO graphics in the game proper! Well, not quite true. I have a headless man in the control room, dials that float in the air, shades of brown and black, and if I go on deck ( the icons are all fine) then there are just long strips of blue and vague black shapes of structure. Don't know what has gone wrong, but have used Revo Uninstaller to get everything off, and tomorrow will do it all again (sob) night-night now :):wah:
