Hi; I know I will probably get flogged, but I have begun pulling out my hair, after it went gray from this! Am trying to re-install SH3, so my 10 year old son can play. (He loves Wolves of the Pacific, so I told him he needs to try SH3, as it is better with GWX). Anyway, had uninstalled everything, had 'rolled back' Commander, because after I got 6 patrols in, the game got buggy. As I try to re-install, I get the message in the subject line of this post. I haven't even gotten to the part that is usually the pain of the re-install of this game.
Please help me here; if possible simply direct me to posts that cover this, as well as the clean re-install. Thank you very much in advance; help me get this wolf cub underway!

Uninstall using said option on game disc.
Delete the SH3 folder in C\MyDocs
Perform a registry clean
Reboot computer and reinstall

Thank you; there is no uninstall option from the game disc. I can only highlight 'Install'. The folder has been deleted. I appreciate your reply; any other help with this would be appreciated. Have done Uninstall and re-install before, but this is different. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

Don't forget to perform a registry clean to clear out the files that are usually left hidden.
I use RegVac, there is a free trial version available from here:

Thanks! I will try that. Have been through the registry several times; doesn't mean I didn't miss something, though. Thanks again!

I had the same problem; to solve it, I had to go to the installsheild directory and delete the key that referred to SH3:arrgh!:

I had problems trying to reinstasll sh3 even after doing everything mentioned. The I saw a thread that recommended that you run a search for SH3 in the windows search feature. I did and was suprised to find several hits which I deleted. After that I had no trouble doing the reinstall.
Hope this helps.
