It's more than a match for my laptop.:damn: Runns really choppy, even after dumming it down.:damn:
My CPU 2.1 :shifty:; required 2.4
I tried a campaign. Once I got up there with the other planes, the sound started to lag really bad:stare:.

Just curious. :hmmm: Why buy it if you knew by the game specs you don't have the rig that can play it ?
Money would have been better spent upgradeing computer imho.

Didn't really notice that part. My other high spec games run just fine on my laptop, so I didn't even think to look.:shifty:
It just gives me an excuss to up grade my desk top.
I can get a free i7 chip, but I need to buy a new motherboard and RAM.:shifty: MB >$250 , RAM around $150.
or
I could get an AMD chip that would work with my am2 MB and a new graphics card.:88)
Stoopid upgrades:stare:. My laptop has done great until RoF.

I've just bought RoF too. And I can't use the sodding thing!! :damn: . I went through the lengthy install process, including the download of a huge patch. Then the registration process :o. Thought that I would get an activation link via email by way of an auto-response. Nope. I've now been waiting all morning and no sign. Can't even get onto the RoF forums as it will not let me in. Mightily pissed right now :x :x
Undecided for a while now! due to the ''DHD'' dial home device, So i gave the demo a run, bit of a chew on to get activated and so on, pretty decent game but i have decided its not for me. It'll end up like so many other games i've got and theres a few... unopened..on the shelf,so im gonna pass on this one. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/images/avatars/4771885724701ed97b4244.gif

Mine runs absolutely fine then has around 10 seconds of really bad lag, then another 40 seconds of fine gameplay, then ten seconds of bad lag....
Absolutely irritating so i'm leaving it well alone til the next patch.

How does it "not let you in"? You don't need a registered copy of the game to use the forums. (I am a moderator there). Don't fuss with any activation via email. Just log into the forums, click on the word "Profile" near the top right. There will be a box for your CD key. Enter it. Log into game with same email / password as forum. Done.

Highbury..... waaaaaaaaay off topic of the thread, but I noticed your Vancouver coin there on the screen. I just got back from doing the tours on both the Protecteur, then boat hopping and re-deploying again on the 'Peg. Dad was on the commissioning crew for the Van many moons ago.
What trade are ya?

No worries, if you decide to D/L the demo, pay attention to the screen resolution and dont do what i did  i was sitting waiting patiently for the bloody game to do something ie: sitting in the hanger watching a plane going round and round trying to figure out where and what options were available, then it dawned on me the freaking game was set at the wrong res. all the controls were hidden :O:

I've been playing this for about a month and it looks and runs great except for the rudder control. I cannot get a fine control of it. It's always too much with the smallest input. Line up on a ground target, fire, aim is a bit off, use some rudder to adjust and then I'm way off. The other controls are fine.
Why the Dolphin for cripes sake? You'd think the Camel would have been the first Sopwith. I get the feeling they are holding out with the more famous birds to collect money. Give me an Eindekker!

I wonder if they'll release a retail-version with more flyable aircraft at a later stage. :hmmm:
I don't have a credit card so buying flyables over the internet is not possible.

There has been no talk of it, but I expect it will be like other flight sims. I bought every version of IL-2 as they came out, cost hundreds. Now you can buy it all for $10.
@Stabbing, sorry didn't see your question and it was long ago now.. I was NCIOP but I have been out for years. I last served on Algonquin, I just had that Vancouver "Coin" because I thought it looked nice. I have a brother who is currently on Calgary.
