I, for one, am glad to see Canada finally taking a more aggressive posture concerning our 'true north'. We're seen around the world as a northern country, and we've allowed the Russian's and Dane's far too much claim in our arctic waters. The 'quiet' and 'polite' Canadians seem to get walked over and taken advantage of usually. While we don't have a lot of might militarily, I'm happy to see that our Prime Minister has had enough and will be making this a priority now and in the future. I heard today that a large military installation will be planned on Baffin Island too!
Canada only has 4 dated subs, but who knows what might develop from this!? The area is seen as a real HOT SPOT now for resources.
