Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed so far. The weapons don't feel like RTCW, the gameplay feels like a COD rehash (with less polish) with its damage modeling. I hate the damage modeling of duck out an recover health - leave that with COD. In Wolfenstein, you should be dying to get to some table with a bag of health on it and fight your way there!!!!! The graphics look like COD even. Checkpoints have replaced saves. Ugghhh!!!!

If I were to rate it today I'd give it about a 6 on 10, but being only in the beginning, maybe this is unfair.

I'm just not feeling it yet. Maybe I am not deep enough.

Watched few gameplay vids of it and I must say it doesnt appeal to me at all. I would've liked it to go back to it's roots and make the nazi experiments etc. abit more... well... realistic?

The graphics engine feels about COD3 era too. Not the excellent COD4.

I agree. Give me my classic Wolfenstein. Return To Castle Wolfenstein was about perfect for the type of game it was, and for it's release date. That is where I wanted this one to be. How it is, we are somewhere out in left field comparatively. Yes it has BJ, and yes it has Nazi's doing experimental things, but that is where the similarity ends.

At least that is my take so far. Can you tell I am not that happy? Hopefully as I get deeper, this will improve.

I must say, it gets much better. That is if you play the Death Incarnate level. Your veil powers of invincibility do not last as long I think. So if you plan on having a decent game instead of an easy ride, I suggest you start on Death Incarnate and grab yourself an MG43 and do things the hard way - Assault rifle style!

I am much more entertained at this point.
