There was a guy on my boat who never took drivers ed in high school and to this day doesnt have a permit. So he's not alone, but I'd wager that TLAM and this guy are quite different in the personality department.

I would imagine that people who live in big cities may not have a need to learn to drive either.

One of my friends in DC does not have a driver's license. At least she saves money on car payments and insurance. :D

I've got a license, but no car of my own, which kinda sucks, but I don't have the money to pay for the upkeep of a car atm anyway.

Meh, we all dont live in the 'big city', our city is some thing we dont usually go to often.

otherwise is all our driving is pretty much, 'hey more corn' kinda like nebraska with out the 'endless' versions of said corn. we got patches of woods n swamp n such out here. :dead:

Exactly even though I don't live in a "big city", I live 1.25 miles from work, 1.20 miles from the grocery store and ~3 miles from just about any place else I need to go. So I just walk or ride my bike.

Plus I don't drink (much) and don't smoke.

i'm gonna raise my hand and say that all i've got is a provisional license.
i did take lessons before my first son was born but worry got the better of me as the pregnancy ran over etc.
since then just not found the time. i cycle to work its a 14 mile round trip over nice country lanes. i take the bus or the train to town or hitch a lift.
the wife drives and uses her car tonnes and we all fit in that, although there's no way i could afford another right now with only me working and her studying.

overall i'm not fussed, imo there's too many cars on the roads as it is and i'm happy to walk/cycle wherever.

btw i'm 29 :o:D
