Silent Hunter 4 problem

Ok, I have a major problem with my SH4. After about 3 patrols in the beginning of the war, and after about 20k tons sunk, I head back to base to finish this patrol. I save every so often cause I have had trouble corrupted saves in the past. Yet when I reach the dock, I accidentlaly press F5 to get to the bridge and I CTD. Now when I try to load any of these that worked before, even after CTDs, they do not work now. A couple from the beginning of this third patrol work, but one of them loads with white squares replacing some of the gauges, and white buttons instead of the normal. If i try to do mainly anything, they will CTD. The rest of the saves just lead to CTDs.

I have SH4 + Uboats installed. v1.5, downloaded from Steam.

My PC specs are :
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66ghz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 295

(FYI i tried the game withotu the mods, and the white squares appeared over the gauges again, and I'm certain there would be corrupted saves too)

Any help?

It happen to me once that all my save file under the same campaign doesn't works and my only option is to restart the whole dang campaign which is really a pain.

My Mod list is quite similar to yours.

the TMO1.8 beta is after i crashed my save, i upgraded to TMO1.8 and start off a new game.

The big fix for corrupted saves is to make your SH4 icon point to SH4.exe instead of the update checker. There are major save game issues with the update checker and it should be abandoned.

Sorry for the delay, was gone for the weekend. I am using the steam version and it was already pointed at the sh4.exe location. I ordered the CD version (cheap on amazon) to see if there will be a difference, it should come this week. I do not know why this save corruption occurs.. it is very depressing.

Now your getting into some serious stuff either a dual install or a new install. Make sure to search the forums on threads about re-installing SH4 and or dual installations. They can be tricky.

I am going to completely uninstall the steam version, delete all files related to it, and do a fresh install with the CD version. Going to see if that works.
