Okay. My Skype security settings clearly state "Only allow incoming contacts from users on my friend list".
For the past several weeks, spammers have been getting past this and are sending me chat messages ! How the hell are they getting around my security settings !?! :shifty:

These messages certainly are NOT coming from anyone on my friend list !

Is it really bad? The only public place my Skype is listed is here on SS, only got 2 or 3 spammers. Block contact, fixed.

Though it's a good question how they get past Skypes settings. :hmmm:

My skype name isn't listed anywhere so they aren't getting my skype name off of that. They probably have some kind of bot searching out random names. I'd really like to know how they get past those security settings and get their messages to me. I'll be in the middle of working on my music, or playing City of Heroes when: *PING !* "Hi ! It's me ! *insert random name*. Come look at my hot pics !!"

"Yeah..." *clicks on block and report abuse, not that it does any good because I just get contacted by the same bot using a new name*

Web crawlers scan the internet for email addresses on websites, so I'm going to guess they can also leach account names some how. It has to be stored somewhere on the net, and if it isn't secure then they can get it.

How are they using Skype to send me Skype messages when my Skype settings are set to not allow anyone to send me messages who aren't on my contact list ??

How can we Mod SH4 so well, someone built a program to do it. I would say the found an exploit in the program.
