If you are wanting to operate without the help of the computer telling you how much damage you have, I'm not sure how you do that. I've run a few of the mods, and haven't seen that feature missing in any of them. I haven't seen a realism setting that turns it off, either, but then I haven't been looking for it.

As you don't have a soaked, oil-stained, exhausted chief engineer who's just crawled out of a damaged compartment to tell you the status of your boat having the % hull damage indicator is not a bad thing. Why would you want to remove that, you'll only end up with your boat sinking because you had no idea of the amount of hull damage and scratching your head wondering why it went down?:D
I'm running SH 1.4 with TMO and RCRDC and, well i may be wrong but is it in RFB, i thougth it was not.
O and yes i want to get the % damages meter out, if i get damaged i will have to dive the sub and see how deep it is save to go.

By the time you find that out, it'll be too late. Finding the exact crush depth on your sub, damaged or undamaged is sort of like the old joke about wanting to know classified information. --"I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you." ;)

Just a few % points of damage changes your crush depth considerably.
I dived to 600ft in my Tambor, and could go deeper. I got 2% damage and at 480ft...BOOM.
I understand wanting realism. If you just remove the numbers I guess you could watch you flood tanks as they fill up with water and I assume you also want the red bars..That would about give you the info you need anyway, so I can understand it.
I hated the "ship sunk" message myself. Like you should have a voice calling from the heavens that ship is sunk, so I finally removed those lines.
Now, I only know a ship is sunk...when it goe's down. Obvious you can watch for lifeboats, but to me it's more realistic.
I'll give it a look and see. Sure it can be done.
Thanks Armistead i hope it can be done.:salute:

Personally I just don't look at the blasted thing. The hull damage meter is just a built in cheat, put there by the devs because they were intimidated by whiners. In fact the real submarine skippers had no idea what their hull damage percentage was. They also had no dirty underwear percentage gauge or conning tower rust gauge. Luckily since nobody whined about needing those, we don't have them.
Much damage aboard a submarine was hidden, completely unknown to the crew. U-505 was damaged in an air attack and for the next year limped around the Atlantic with damage that couldn't even be found on shore at the yard!
We have an irrational "need" to know everything. When you have that, it's called a video game, not a simulation. The unknown is an indispensable part of true simulation and needs to be preserved in the face of any number of whiners. Otherwise, we might as well play Pokemon.

RSRD gives a Hull Damage percentage on the DC screen.
