Okay i've been playing with mods and whatnot and getting used to GWX so tonight i started a propper Career :D

Left Lorient on the 7th of Jan to patrol AM27 Met a flower corvette the HMS Lobelia in BF15 and sank her with 1 shot, broke her back and she went down quick, only 13 escaped of 128.
then grid AM49 came across a granville freighter, decided to surface to finish her after 2 eels failed to sink her, took 2 hits from her after deck gun! got my revenge though as she went down.
then on the 12th of jan i got a message a task force was heading for my patrol zone, i checked course and speed and sure enough they were going to pass through, so i just happily patroled away. Sighted them on the morning of the 12th at 0500
2 battleships and a corvette surrounded by destroyers the lead battleship was....
HMS HOOD! :ping:
immediately i lined up all 4 tubes and launched a salvo i actually kept a small log:
12.1.41 0535 fired 4 at Hood, range 5400m 5° spread, 2 hits, 1 dud, 1 miss. 1st hit below bridge second hit on stern.
she settles slightly by the stern and listed to starboard.
made our way to 120m silent running destroyers passed us by.
0736 convoy has reversed course and are heading back to england, sonar operator kept contact, light breakfast of eggs and cold cuts. sounds at rear of convoy of slow screws.
0742 hood sighted 4kts 65° port plotting intercept, convoy moving on without her.
0753 hood increased speed to 24kts, re-calculated intercept and went all full on the electrics.
0755 hood now 11kts 4000m 64° port tubes 1-4 reloaded and ready 2° spread.
0758 Impact! 3 hits! all abaft the central stack to the 3rd turret. made for 120m course 358° silent running.
0804 sound of screws slowing
0805 screws stopped!
0809 bulkheads collapsing
0811 underwater explosions heard, HMS Hood Confirmed sunk AM27-0812-12.1.41
0814 destroyer detected! went to 180m.
0826 destroyer contact lost 80°stb.
not much i know but damn it was intense! if she hadn't have turned i'd have been rather upset about her listing but sailing off into the rising sun!
such an awesome kill and got away with it scot free too! :rock:
on the way back fired my last two torps into a large merchant and sank her in am51.
dispite sub damage BDU saw fit to promote me to Oblt.Z.S :D
can't say how much i'm totally wrapped up in this game atm... SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obayed) laughes every time i score a hit or miss or anything really i really mutter to myself and shout at the screen alot! :arrgh!:
