Getting back into the game after a long hiatus, loved the game for it allowed me to say I learned some German from my time on a German u-boat, to which I always get quizzical stares back but I digress.

I'm using GWX 3.0 gold and I was wondering if the mod removes the radio contacts from appearing on the nav screen. I'm in my third patrol and I haven't seen one yet, friendly, neutral, foe, not a one. Is it removed or am I just having some bad luck with that?

The radio messages that indicate some goings on at a particular latitude and longitude, are they happening in the game or are they merely cosmetic? If they are real how do I know where to go since the nav map is sans latitude and longitude lines.

Reported contacts outside your sensor field should still be appearing. I'm getting them. Are you seeing ships etc?

I found a little stand-alone program to convert grid positions to lat/long, but not been able to find one that works the other way around. Is there one that anybody knows of? No real use, I know, but it'd be something to pass time with when out on patrol. As it is, I've no idea where in the world any of the messages are referring to!

The only lone ship I saw was a German freighter before the Polish invasion on my second trip out. On my still going third patrol I had the joy of seeing a small squad of German destroyers out in the North Sea. Other than the patrols around the larger ports I'm seeing no moving ships, just some stationary ones in the ports. Oh and planes, the planes work of course :(

i'm running GWX 3.0 gold myself and got two radio reported contacts within 50km of each other at the same time, speed run intercept one, shot two torps then speed run to the next to sink her to :yeah:
works ok for me?
i can however go damn near a whole patrol without getting a thing, although for that one the weather in the atlantic was horrible so planes won't fly and you couldn't see your hand in front of your face much less another ship :ping:
