Another Filefront FRUSTRATION

When I try to download a mod (like Von Hallys) from filefront I always (90%) of the time get their opening screen. I click the DL link and get this.

Anyone know what I can do about this?????

Not a thing. FileFront only keeps files up for a limited time, and the bigger the file the shorter the time. Once that time is about up they send an email to the author. If he doesn't respond they remove the file, and the link will then only take you to their front page.

Unfortunate, but that's the way they work.

Storage space, servers and bandwidth don't come for free, but the downloads do, I'd call it a decent deal. Everyone always wants something for nothing and even when they get it they get angry because there are limitations. The internet isn't as socialist as it would very much like to be.

You get 7 days notice of any file deletions....simply check your account at least once a week.

I still have plenty of room left for mods in SHMF (http://www.silenthuntermods.com/forum/), and it's free (I have never so far asked for donations), fast and resumable downloads (depends on users' own connection speed) and mods stay as long as I'm alive.
Just go and ask for hosting.

Unfortunate, but that's the way they work.Oh they don't always warn you when they plan to do a clean up. I've had that happen twice this year... there website manager will blame you for not checking your email or your email guard blocks there message aka spam. They can do no wrong.

I try not to use them no more. :03:

Filefront can be a nonsense sometimes, but looks like it is my fault that my mods got removed, i probably set up the account with an old e-mail address, so never got the warning.
i'd be happier with the mods here on the subsim download link at the top of the main page here anytime... anyway:yeah:

Yes, Please all of you, stop now with filefront, tell them you are withdrawing all your uploads and put it HERE at Subsim, that will teach them a lesson. WE are THEIR customers and not Vice Versa... If there is no common discipline for our common good, valuable info will go down the drain, with no recovering possibility ( Hofinasia's tutorial is a good example ) .
