Well first of all, I'm new to this game, so this might be one of the shortest AARs you've ever seen.

I'll be concentrating mainly to the war area in the AAR. Writing a 'full' AAR would be abit too overwhelming considering that EU games are very Very VERY complex.

Right, off we go then. :shucks:

CHAPTER 1 - expanding the empire

January 1, 280 BC

I'm sorry, but I just have to ask; if I'm the mighty Roman empire, then where's my army?! 26,000 troops is all I get in the beginning!

So, the game starts pretty much like Europa Barbarorum for RTW. The southern parts are held by the baddies (Magna Graecia) and before I can set-up my trade routes I have the different parties yelling at my face to go smash some heads to the south.

The bumm-kisser that I am, I separate the 26,000 troops and form Legions I & II, both being 13,000 men in strenght. My plan is to use these legions to attack as soon as the tits in Rome deliver the III & IV Legions to act as rearguards.

Ow yeh, it seems like a simple job, but as far as I've gathered, I can only claim territory if I annex it, so somehow I need to convince the MG bastards to accept peaceterms that say "You get peace, but I take your 2 last provinces!" (no, I havent succeeded in it yet... there gotta be another way :hmmm:).

After I have atleast manned both Ager Bruttius and Tarentum, I turn my eyes north and march my Legions to Liguria and Bononia in hopes to claim them from the rebel wankers.

To be continued yaadidaa

Stubborn little pigs they are. On June 30, 280BC, the armies of Magna Graecia crossed the border to Lucania... just to fell to the blades of the II Legion. They screamed like girlies as they retreated back to Ager Bruttius. :D

Few months later, they were back asking for more.

On January 3, 279BC, they came forth and sued for peace. After I recovered from the hysterical laughing, I wiped my arse with it and made note to myself that the populist faction is full of pansies. :hmmm:

Come Spring and with it my long awaited III & IV Legions from Rome and Etrudsomething. Kicking arse imminent!

"Time is relative" said my advisor when I asked how the **** can it take so long for my new legions to reach the front. It was already Fall, before my Legions marched to Ager Bruttius and Tarentum. The defenders had no chances.

After the swift victories, representives from Magna Graecia came sue for peace... again. Weeee, more toilet paper! It's going to be needed during the long sieges of the fortresses in Ager Bruttius & Tarentum. (Cant they just give up??)

South is secured for now. After the fall of Tarentum (421 day siege) and Ager Bruttius (463 day siege) in the early months of 277BC it was time for politics.

I was in control of the only two provinces MG had, so I was naturally under the impression that Senate would instruct me to demand unconditional surrender and wipe MG out of the history pages. Little did I know, my country is run by idiots; 10 year truce if they give me Ager Bruttius. :dead:

With a hail of curses I ordered Legion I to leave Tarentum and let MG claim it back, BUT I refused to redeploy my legions to North. Come first chance and I'll be back in Tarentum, with or without the Senate's blessing! :stare:

Before the sieges ended, I had already pulled Legions III & IV to north. Having over 80,000 men ready to serve under my command, I started massive troop training in Rome with goal to have both legions ready to move to the northern rebel territory with the combined strenght of 40,000 men.
