Hello All

I was just wondering something?

I originally purchased SH3 from Direct Drive about 2 1/2 years ago. In that time I have used up two activation keys. I believe each key gives you 5 activations before the code is no longer any good.

Well I formated my hard drive yesterday and reinstalled SH3 once again. And after was informed that i had (ZERO)activations left. So I sent away for another key for use in the future. I was just wondering how many times I will be sent these codes/keys? Is there a limit?

Only reason I have used up two activation keys is because my hard drive is so small ( 40GB) and as many of you know hard drives fill up quick and after awhile tend to get real sluggish.

Anyways..just wondering how many times I will be allowed to receive a new key?

Thanks :)

PS..formatting your hard drive and reinstalling is a pain in the ass but it sure feels good afterwards...SO MUCH FASTER:yeah:

Yeah, or you could get yourself a reg.database cleaner, such a small piece of software costs a little of course, but since I have had such software, I have not made a system format since once in 2007.
This is the one, I use:

and do yourself the favour to register a lifetime license, it's the cheapest in the long run.
A 40gb harddrive ain't very big either, if you can afford it, then why not a 100gb+ harddrive? Plenty of room for both programs and games, and other material... :yeah:

Larger hard drives are rather cheap these days so you'd do well to get one.

Since you've just reinstalled everything now might be a good time to make an image of your hard drive so the next install is simply a case of writing that image. No need to reinstall everything program by program then and no need for codes.

I bought SH3 a couple of month's ago via amazon.com. Patch 1.4b is included and there is no serial number. I don't need any serial when installing SH3. :)

I found this serial (below) on the internet:

No serial numbers please: reallydedpoet

From the SUBSIM FAQ

What is Subsim.com's stance in relation to warez and piracy? SUBSIM Review has a longstanding policy against software piracy. We do NOT allow discussion or even mention of warez, abandonware, peer-to-peer game swapping, illegal download sites, or rip-off websites. Nothing will get you banned faster than pointing people to illegal software distribution sites. Don't ask for serial numbers, manuals, or cracks. Any admission that you have in your possession illegal software can and usually will result in revocation of your Radio Room forum account. Support computer game programmers buy legally purchasing their work. They have to eat too, you know.

Maybe this one doesn't expire?

Well..I have been wasting everyone's time including Direct2Drives.

I have been dragging a saved copy of the game "Silent Hunter 3 Application" from my desktop to my lap top (wireless connection) and transferring back over after every format of my drive.

So because of this I am given only so many chances to open the file.

I didn't realize that I could actually download the file from Direct2Drive any time I wanted. Just as long as I log onto my account.

My bad!

Thanks guys!
