SHIII highest In-game rank?

Looking at the renown config files in stock SH3 would suggest that there are 4 possible advances in rank...presumably:

Leutnant zur See
Oberleutnant zur See
Kapitanleutnant

...and Korvettenkapitan?

If anyone has a definitive answer to this query, I'd love to see it posted (along with the SH3 Commander Personnel File of anyone who has actually been promoted BEYOND KptLt. in the Vanilla or GWX versions of the game).

It seems to depend on whether one spends one's renown.

Since the example above, I have tweaked the config files to make promotions come a little earlier, esp late war, and make the higher medals harder to come by.

If you are not using SH3Cmdr then there is nothing you can do regarding the ranks and promotions. If you do use SH3Cmdr you can edit the Cfg files and go all the way up to FgtKpt. Have a look at this thread and if you still have problems let me know http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=105724

Isnt the renown capped? I always maintain a 29-35k balance with over a million career tons on the bottom I have never seen Korevetten Kapitan. :06:
