Pre-war:

starting of in 1911, we just went on increasing our military might and research the latest technology available at those times.
Discussing how we should take on the ''Tiple Entente'' when war should break out (august 1914).
We followed the interesting events of the Italian invasion of lybia, Spain in war with France due a incident in Morroco and after a long campaign France annexed Spain. The Balkan League who had trouble with the Ottomans.

The Ottoman Empire managed to crush Bulgaria, fend of Greece and annexed Serbia. Now on the expected date Franz Ferdinand was assasinated by a Serb who has no country. As Serbia was gone so I had no country to punish. first days of August nothing happend...no-one declared war, there wasn't going to be a Great war?!

but on the 5th of August..

''THE GERMAN EMPIRE, WITH AUSTRIA-HUNGARY DECLARE WAR ON THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE''

Kaiser Wilhelm - ''THEY STOLE OUR WAR!''
Franz Josef - ''It was my right to crush the Serbs! damn you Ottomans!''

---

Suprisingly no-one else cared what we did to the Ottoman Empire.
So we could re-deploy some of our troops to increase our numbers to fight against the Ottomans.

in the first days I was fighting over the territory of Ragusa, and with the help of the Germans we marched into Uzice:
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/2708/uo0001y.jpg

I took Ragusa and immedialty chased the retreating forces and attacked the province of Cetinje, meanwhile the German forces where marching into Nov Pazar.
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7918/uo0002p.jpg

Belgrade was to be mine so I attacked it on many fronts at the same time with the support of German forces.
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/8146/uo0003z.jpg

The forces in Belgrade where quikly crushed but the Ottomans reinforced the province of Nis which I attacked immediatly to prevent it from reinforcing the province of Belgrade.
http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/317/uo0004b.jpg

Too late, they reinforced Belgrade, no matter with the help of Germany we attacked Nis.
http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8518/uo0005n.jpg

With the forces in Nis retreating and our forces taken control over the province we had Belgrade surrounded.
http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/7359/uo0006.jpg

With the victory over Belgrade we where marching towards Constatinople to cut of the troops that where north of Greece. The German troops where racing towards Kavala.
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/5663/uo0007luq.jpg

The Romanians joined our side and attacked the Ottoman Empire from the North their goal was to head out to Varna.
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8045/uo0008g.jpg

The Germans marched into Sofia then they would go to Plovdiv and then Kavala. while the Romanian troops and my troops mopped up what was left in Pleven and Varna.
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1373/uo0009u.jpg

With our goals reached and having trapped quiet some Ottoman divisions North of Greece we halted our offensives as Winter came.

"ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!"

Winter, 1914

With the halting of the offensive in the Balkans, the combined Austro-German army faced the Ottomans on 2 fronts, with the Balkan pocket on one side and the rest of the Ottoman army across the Bosphorus from occupied Constantinople. Though while the front was relatively calm, the newly arrived German High Seas Fleet was mercilessly hunting the Turkish navy around the Aegean.

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/4892/sc000195.png

In a bid to speed up the war, and grab more territory for themselves, the Germans land a force of cavalry from the Black Sea in Eastern Turkey. Though meeting no opposition in the landing, the German cavalry is too slow to exploit the breach effectively due to lack of infrastructure and is bogged down in and around their beachead.

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4199/sc000197.png

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4738/sc000200.png

Even though the winter is still making warfare difficult, German High Command orders an attack into Izmit, a battle which would prove as the longest and bloodiest of the war.

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8780/sc000198.png

While both sides reinforce their armies in the Battle of Izmit, the landed cavalry force pushes west in order to outflank the Turkish army and force a crossing of the Bosphorus. 2 cavalry divisions join the attack, but it proves far from decisive.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/3531/sc000204.png

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/8531/sc000206.png

Meanwhile, the Italians, unwelcome members of the Central Powers, have decided to carve up the Ottoman Empire for themselves and landed in Palestine. Despite surprise and superiority, the Italians manage to botch their campaign in a typical fashion and only progress as far as Damascus.

http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/8893/sc000207.png

In the end of February, while the Battle of Izmit still rages, the German and Austro-Hungarian troops continue their offensive into the Balkans. The Austrian attack into Skopje is halted in it's tracks, but the Germans manage to push into Salonika and then west to the shore, cutting off the Greek border by mid-April.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1585/sc000211.png

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/3757/sc000226.png

In April, advancing German cavalry units have secured a line across Turkey itself, cutting off the main body of the Ottoman army. Soon after, the surviving Ottoman forces in Izmit retreated after over 3 months, linking the divided Austro-German forces once more.

http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/7009/sc000223.png

As the German cavalry moved south to link up with the Italian divisions, the Balkan pocket was finally eliminated. German and Austro-Hungarian troops also pressed their offensive against the surrounded forces in Turkey itself, first cutting off and destroying an Ottoman division in Konya then attacking and routing the Ottoman army in Smyrna and Bursa into the Dardanelles Islands.

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/367/sc000232.png

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/244/sc000228.png

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4299/sc000233.png

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/744/sc000235.png

The Ottoman army, at this point, was completely and utterly crushed. Whatever was left of it was either running around Arabia or holed up in the Dardanelles. It was here that the Ottoman army made it's last stand. The battle was also noticable because of the fact that it saw a new weapon introduced into warfare on a large scale, the aircraft, with 8 German recon/bomber squadrons attacking the Turkish troops. Expectations were low for this newfangled machine, but it's stunning decimation of the Ottoman divisions gave hope to it's advocates that it could prove a decisive weapon.

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3751/sc000240.png

The Ottomans, in a last bid to survive, offer peace to the Germans. But, seeing no point in sparing them, the Germans continue and secure the remainder of the Ottoman provinces.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/7979/sc000244.png

The Ottomans are annexed, and with minor land shuffling, divided by the Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy. Austria-Hungary will occupy the Balkans, all the way south to Constantinople and the Greek border. Germany will get Turkey and Mesopotemia while Italy gets the other useless places that nobody wants in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/957/sc000247.png

With the end of the war, a massive redeployment order is given pulling troops back from the frontlines. The German and Austro-Hungarian leaders are now debating who will be the next unfortunate victim of their warmongering.

The Great(er) War Begins!

April 2nd, 1916

After the entirely boring winter of 1915-1916, Germany and Austria-Hungary decide it's time to start the big one. The war may have been stolen by the Ottomans, but that doesn't mean the French are going to get away with it.

Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy declare war on France and Russia on April 2nd, 1916 (A day after April 1st, both to catch them by surprise and to make sure they don't take it as a joke). The Schlieffen Plan is implemented the following day, April 3rd, with the declaration of war on Belgium and Luxembourg and causes Britain to join the war on the Entente's side.

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/2579/sc000265.png

Specific details on the early fighting are missing because the head reporter on the Western Front has been killed by a shell near Antwerp. The one responsible for the Eastern Front has went missing in the vicinity of Lemberg and we have not heard from him since. So, instead, we'll give you the long overview.

Invasion of Belgium and Plan XVII - Battle of the Frontiers

German troops, a combination of fresh but well drilled troops and veterans from the Turkish campaign, march on Liège, Arlon and Luxembourg on April 6th. A French counterattack in Luxembourg drives the German advance guard out but retreats after the main force arrives. Cavalry sent to take the Northern coastline are cought by French and Belgian infantry divisions and forced to retreat. After several days, a front forms across the French-German and French-Belgian border with the northern part of Belgium remaining in the Entente's hands.

The German High Sea Fleet, taking agressive action in the English Channel, manages to halt reinforcements from Britain and sink several British ships.

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/2386/sc000267.png

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5309/sc000269.png

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/1108/sc000279.png

The French open up their offensive against the weak left flank of the German army. Aiming to take Mülhausen, lost in the Franco-Prussian War, from the Germans. The 5 divisions under von Zwehl's XV. Armeekorps, though heavily entranched, are faced with 31 French divisions. After holding for several weeks, the Germans are forced to retreat and concede Mülhausen to the French. This creates a crisis with the German High Command, as the only reserves are far way and will not be able to block French advance for some time. A desperate counterattack fails to recapture the city, and a wide gap in the German front forms.

http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8598/sc000274.png

http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9407/sc000276.png

In the north. A breach in the line is spotted and quickly exploited in Brussles. 5 French and Belgian divisions are cought and besieged in the Antwerp and a series of battles ensues between German and French forces for control of Mons, Ghent and Dunkerque.

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9483/sc000282.png

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/2401/sc000284.png

Offensives continue into late May, at which point German High Command calls a halt to most offensive action in order to reorganize. The Schlieffen Plan has failed, Paris has not fallen in 40 days and the Battle of the Frontiers has ended with Germany controlling most of Belgium, except Antwerp, which is still under siege, and parts of France. French forces hold Mülhausen and the Germans are desperately trying to block their advance.

Battle of the Seine

May, 1916

With the halting of offensive action on other fronts, the German army concentrates on reaching the Seine river and Paris. After reorganizing from their offensive on Reims, the German army pushes into Compiègne. French forces in Compiègne are 4 badly mauled divisions who are overrun after several days. German armies reach the Seine river and the gates of Paris inside a massive salient.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/3126/sc000287.png

Wary of attacking Paris, the Germans choose instead to flatten the front and drive the French completely behind the Seine. An attack on Amiens is launched, but fails as French reinforcements arrive in the last minute. An attack on Lille following a failed French attack on Mons succeeds but forces there immediately come under a French counterattack. The battle's course is reversed as Antwerp falls and reinforcements can be brought to the front.

Meanwhile, the French forces in the South continue to advance. Having reached as far as the Saar and Stuttgart. The German divisions frantically decide to close the gap as the French strech out their defensive lines.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/4260/sc000292.png

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/3333/sc000295.png

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1168/sc000296.pnghttp://img23.imageshack.us/img23/9715/sc000305.png

The French are finally cut off in the south and a counterattack drives the French forces from Alsace. German and Austro-Hungarian continue to try to annihilate the encircled French army deep in German territory.

Another offensive is launched on Amiens, but it too fails to achieve it's objectives. An attack is launched across the Marne river into Troyes but it too grounds to a halt.

In the south, the counterattack continues into Belfort and eventually takes it.

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/6831/sc000308.png

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1494/sc000309.png

http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2073/sc000313.png

July sees an end to the Second Battle of Amiens and the First Battle of Troyes as the French threaten to take Ghent, an attack which would ultimately fail with the coming of reinforcements.

The rampaging French army is finally cought and annihilated in Leipzig, allowing even more German divisions to be brought to the line.

Finally, the first Assault Trooper divisions make their appearance on the battlefield. Armed with flamethrowers and submachine guns, with proper doctrine advances, these troops might prove a decisive weapon.

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/3246/sc000315.png

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/9404/sc000316.png

http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8303/sc000317.png

Not giving the French troops any respite, the Germans launch another offensive. Another attack is launched on Amiens while forces in Lille advance to Calais in an effort to trap French troops in Dunkerque. In the south, a combined assault from Belfort and across the Marne again manages to rout the French.

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7168/sc000328.png
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/1327/sc000332.png

The French are encircled in Dunkerque and soon surrender. With the French front in the north close to collapse, the Germans push forward. The Third Battle of Amiens is supported from the north and the French retreat by early September. French forces in Le Havre are attacked and forced to retreat behind the river, conceeding the right bank of the Seine to German forces.

In the south, German forces push forward into undefended Vichy and attack north into Auxerre, stopping within sight of the Eifel Tower.

The stage is set for the Battle of Paris.

Battle of Paris

September, 1916

With Paris well within sight of German troops, the French government evacuates the city. Krupp and Škoda siege guns begin pummeling the city as martial law is declared. French troops and citizens frantically work, constructing entrenchments to withstand the expected German assault.

Desperately trying to drive the Germans out of Paris' vicinity. The French launch an assault against the German V. Armeekorps (Also including the Western Front's General HQ) in Auxerre.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/654/sc000341.png

The German XIII. Armeekorps under von Hügel makes best speed to Auxerre, certain that the French will break off the attack with the coming of reinforcements. But a mere 2 hours away, a French artillery shell hits the German General HQ and mortally wounds Kronprinz Rupprecht of Bavaria. The French break off the attack with the arrival of XIII. Armeekorps. The Kaiser promises that the Kronprinz will be given a state funeral, in Paris.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1055/sc000342.png

Remembering the lessons of 1871, the Germans decide to encircle Paris and then crush it instead of attacking head on. A first attempt to cross the Seine in the north of Paris into Caen is broken off and another attack on Argentan is prepared.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1487/sc000343.png

The German V. Armeekorps and XIII. Armeekorps in Auxerre launch an attack into Orléans. Assault Troopers overwhelm the French troops, still weakened from their own attack on Auxerre, and overrun them within a week.

Poorly defended Argentan falls next as German troops cross the Seine in the north, linking up with the XIII. Armeekorps in Orléans and completing the encirclement of Paris.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1662/sc000344.png

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7545/sc000346.png

With Paris encircled, the Germans order the final offensive into the city to start. 11 beleaguered French divisions dug in around the city watch as 73 German divisions, over 700,000 men, attack the city from all direction on October 1st.

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5052/sc000349.png

French Field Marshall Foch orders the troops defending the city to hold out at all costs. A delaying action begins as the French do everything they can to keep the Germans out.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1489/sc000350.png

Frustrated with the lack of progress, the German General HQ orders a massive assault on October 4th in order to defeat the defenders. Artillery rains on Paris as troops overwhelm the French trench line.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1199/sc000352.png

Facing overwhelming numbers and superior firepower, the French morale is broken. Despite orders to hold the city at all costs, Foch surrenders on the morning of October 4th in order to prevent the city from falling into ruin.

Gerrman troops march into the city. Celebrations break out from Berlin to Vienna as news of the fall of Paris reaches. The French government vows to retake the city, but trust in them and their conduct of the war falls rapidly.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6593/sc000353.png

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8703/sc000356.png

With the fall of Paris and the coming of Winter, the German High Command orders a general advance in order to trap or destroy as much of the French army before the onset of winter. Despite continued resistance, however, France seems doomed to lose the war.

The Eastern Front, and a small revolt.

Austro-Hungarian troops marching to the Russian border

With the early succeses against the Ottoman Empire the spirit was high of the German Empire and its ally Austria-Hungary.

Germany's plan to declare war on France and as it would trigger the Russians to declare war on us so the task of the Austro-Hungarian army was mainly to go defensive in the east while Germany focuses on its campaign in the west.

During the winter of 1915-1916 Austria-Hungary re-deployed some extra troops to the Russian borders and reinforced the divisions with brigades of Artillery, heavy weaponry and Gas attachments.
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3083/uo0016h.jpg

For some time now there was some unrest in Belgrade, and in February 1916 Serbian partisans claimed the province..Unacceptable!

With only Austro-Hungarian Cavalry in the vicinity the High command quikly dispatched a reserve army from the Russian border to crush this revolt.
Also the High command asked Germany to use its bombers to rain death and destruction over the province.

Italians, they are advancing in the wrong dirrection.

April 1916

In the Winter of 1915-1916 the German High command adviced Austria-Hungary to put some troops near the French Italian border, the Austro-Hungarian high command dispatched a army of 3 Mountain divisions to the border.

With the German invasion of Belgium and France in progess, the French armies attacked North Italy at Genoa. The Austro Hungarian military experts underestemated the strenght of the Italian defenses and saw it quikly going the wrong way. The Austro-Hungarian High command quikly dispatched some of its reserves from the Russian borders to aid the Italians to hold the French at bay.

http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/1386/uo0025y.jpg

The battle for Genoa was slowly turning into a defeat for the Italians, even with troops arrived from Austria-Hungary which where rushed into battle without the time to reorganize themselfs they couldn't hold the French out of Genoa.

Observing this, the Austro-Hungarian high command debated that they should strategicly retreat to Milan and La Spezia. And so it happend we retreated all the forces to those 2 provinces and managed to stop the French advance in its tracks.

http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/6802/uo0028.jpg

The Russian Front.

Spring - Summer 1916

Because of the removal of the reserves at the Russian border to aid the Italians, the Austria Hungarian lines where somewhat disorganised and weakend at some points.
The Russian seemed to know that too and tried a breakthrought.
The series of attacks where frustrating for the High command but nonetheless after shuffling around with Divisions that brought the defensive lines back to strenght so the attacks could be broken off and the Russian kept out of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
In the North, Germany however lost Königsberg to the Russians.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/5062/uo0029.jpg

Movement in the West, but not really much movement in the East and thats how it stayed till the winter of 1916.

The French last stand in south-east France.

February 1917

With the Germans in the West heading east mopping up the last French resistance it was time for the Italians to take back what they lost last year.

Supported by 5 Austro-Hungarian Divisions they attacked Genoa.

The German later on supported the attack on Genoa from Nice to make sure the supply depot is no more.

After weeks fighting Genoa was part of Italy again, and the attack on Turin started in March 1916 leaded by a Austro-Hungarian Lt.General Giesl von Gieslingen.

Counter-Attack in Russia

May 1917

After a attack made by the Russians in Stanisławów, it was time for the Austro-Hungarian Army to test the Russian defences by quikly counterattacking.
the Austro-Hungarian troops are going to march to Kiev and will attempt to crush the Russian division south of the line.
Plans of a German offensive against the Russians in the North have been made.

The Western Front

November 1st, 1916 - June 1st, 1917

With the fall of Paris, French lines rapidly begun to collapse. German cavalry marching into Cholet have cut off Brittany and several dozen divisions stationed there while the German advance continued, sometimes unopposed, into the south.

Soon, what was the Western Front degenerated into 3 separate sub-fronts. The main front against the French and Portuguese in the south, the Brittany pocket against the French and British in the northwest, and the Alpine front to the southeast.

The Southeastern Sector - Alpine Offensive

October, 1916 - March, 1916

The opening action of this offensive was an attack on Chalon-sur-Saône started at the end of October. Despite overwhelming numbers and firepower, the German attack was brought to a halt in mid-November due to the frozen terrain and strong river defences.

The Offensive continued again in early January. German infantry has reached the Mediterranean coast in Montpellier and Nîmes, cutting off the French troops in the Alps and the Italian front. Another attack on Chalon-sur-Saône, with an even larger numerical superiority, manages to drive the French out within a week.

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/4159/sc000394.png

Exploiting a gap in the French lines. German assault infantry crosses the river from Nîmes into Marseilles, Toulon and Nice. Surrounding the former Italian Front. A French attack to drive the Germans out of Nice fails and similarly a German counterattack on Grenoble fails to dislodge the French.

German assault infantry attacks Genoa, aiding the ongoing Austro-Italian offensive, Genoa falls and the German and Italian fronts meet on the evening of March 3rd.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/2949/sc000410.png

German attacks from the north capture Lyon and Grenoble from the unsupplied defenders. The French make a last stand in Turin, but surrender by the end of March, bringing an end to the Alpine Offensive.

The Northwestern Sector - Battle of Brittany

November, 1916 - April, 1916

The Battle of Brittany begins on November 5th, as German troops attack Angers and continue to advance through the parts of Normandy still under control of French troops. The front stabilizes on November 13th as Normandy is cleared and the rest of the troops are brought to the line.

http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/4840/sc000374.png

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/3234/sc000376.png

In late December, German infantry and cavalry launch an attack on Nantes. The French positions prove hard to breach in the winter conditions and the offensive degenerates into trench warfare as both sides throw all their reserves into the battle.

In late February, while the Battle of Nantes was still raging, a French counterattack tries to dislodge the Germans in Angers but ultimately failed.

http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/1075/sc000411n.png

In March and April, a series of massive naval engagements between the Royal Navy and the High Seas Fleet in and around the English Channel, fought in extremely poor conditions and ranges as low as 2 kilometers, brings about the sinking of a dozen British battleships and many lighter ships. The remnants of the British fleet flee into their ports.

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/999/sc000416.png

In early April, with the coming of reinforcements from the southeastern sector, the French retreat from Nantes. A hasty assault follows, taking Rennes and Lorient. The French make their last stand in Brest and surrender on April 30th, closing the Brittany pocket.

The Southwestern Sector - Southern France and the Spanish Campaign

November, 1916 - June, 1917

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we will not be detailing in detail, the details of this campaign.

Continuing the offensive after the fall of Paris, German infantry march into Tours, arriving at the battlefields on which Charles Martel famously defeated the Umayyads in 732. Not stopping for more than necessary, however, German infantry pushes into La Rochelle, Bergerac and Limoges, encircling and and defeating 4 French and Portuguese divisions in Châteauroux.

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/5171/sc000373.png

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/1210/sc000382.png

Continuing the offensive, German infantry reaches the Mediterranean coast at Montpellier by the end of December. Attacks on Toulouse and across the river from La Rochelle to Bordeaux succeed. German infantry presses the offensive on Dax and Pau, encircling and annihilating a further 4 divisions in Auch. By February, German infantry crosses the former the former Spanish border in the Pyrenees.

Pushing into the rapidly disintegrating French lines in Northern Spain. German High Command decides to speed up the French collapse by landing troops in Lisbon, Portugal. Hastily evacuating the city, the Portugese government leaves the capital to the landing German troops, which capture the city on April 13th and begin advancing with no opposition into Spain.

With the complete collapse of French lines, German troops advance in all directions. Madrid falls by the end of May. More amphibious landings are made in Seville, advancing and capturing Gibraltar in May 30th.

June 1st, 1917

Seeing no reason to continue fighting. The French government sues for peace. An armistice is signed with French Chief of Staff Henri Phillipe Pétain on June 1st, 1917, coming into effect at midnight. The terms of the ceasefire are still under negotiation, with a full peace treaty to be signed after the war in the east is over.

German troops start redeploying to the east.

The Allies...Collapse!
May - August 1917

With the Austrian-Hungarian invasion against the Russians in the South Germany started its invasion against Russia in the North.

With Kiev captured the Austrian-Hungarian military command decided to crush the forces south of the new line starting by invading the province of Balta.
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/4913/uo0044gip.jpg

While steadily winning ground in the south, Germany messaged Austria-Hungary to plan a daring encirclement. The plan was to meet in Minsk, unfortunately it could not be done from the Austrian-Hungarian part as there where many Russian divisions lined up against our border, instead the Austria-Hungary attacked those Russian divisions to keep them busy while the Germans close the gap.

The German cavalry divisions where about to finish the encirclement.

The Naval defeat proofed that Austria-Hungary would never become a Naval power if it continued to be sunk by other nation's fleets.
lucky the Austrian-Hungarian Army perfomed at its best as the Russian lines collapsed and their forces crushed by Austria-Hungary in the South and by the German Empire in the North.

Armistice with France, take 2

After 2 days of dealing, paper-tearing, shouts, threats, pistol-waving, rifle-pointing and a shell fired into the French government building in Madrid, both parties decided politely decided to postpone the real peace negotiations until the French find more diplomats. In the mean time, Germany will continue to occupy the northern part of France, partly because they were still at war with the British, partly because they weren't through with oppressing the population.

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/828/sc000437.png

The Eastern Front

The Eastern Front has been largely static since the beginning of the war. Russian attacks were mounted against the Austro-Hungarian armies in Galicia and Poland, but all of these failed to break through. A Russian attack against East Prussia managed to take Memel and Königsberg, but was stopped soon after.

Looking to retake heavily defended Königsberg, German troops attack Thorn. 8 divisions are landed near Memel and soon begin marching to cut off a Russian division in Libau.

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/7034/sc000438.png

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/3466/sc000439.png

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2752/sc000440.png

The Battle of Thorn drags on as the Russians defend their positions. More troops are landed in Memel as Libau falls.

http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/8333/sc000442.png

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2917/sc000443.png

German troops start marching south to cut off Königsberg, but in the meantime, a risky plan is hatched. The German army would sweep south into Belorussia from the Memel bridgehead and the Austro-Hungarian army would attack north. Meeting around Minsk, the Russian army in Poland will be completely enveloped and destroyed.

http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/4335/sc000444.png

http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/5686/sc000445.png

German troops attack north into Riga to prevent the Russians from breaking out. The Russians evacuate Königsberg but the troops are cought and forced to retreat back into the city, only to be annihilated later. Infantry makes steady progress towards Minsk.

http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/803/sc000454.png

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/8793/sc000456.png

The Austro-Hungarian attack is bogged down because of the large precentage of the Russian army facing it, seeing no way to close the gap in time. German High Command orders the 5. Kavallerie-Division under von Hartz to follow the river towards the Austrian lines. Facing no opposition, the division moves towards it's destination, blowing up railroads and leaving behind men to make sure they are no repaired and that no supplies get through. The gap is closed on the 29th as von Hartz reaches the Austro-Hungarian lines in Kiev.

Not a peace, an armistice for until we feel like oppressing somebody again!

After continuing peace negotiations, although in a shell-proof bunker in the vicinity of Paris after insistence by the French, the first stage of the peace treaty is reached. Germany annexes all of the Portuguese and many of the French colonies in Africa, greatly expanding it's colonial empire.

Italy also annexes Tunisia and remains in possession of Morocco, which it annexed in the war.

http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/1906/sc000470.png

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4574/sc000471.png

The United States, not content with the fact that it didn't get to kill anybody yet, demands the former French colony of Cayenne in French Guiana. Seeing nobody useful to oppress in the scorpion-infested colony, Germany cedes it to the US to avoid entering another war.

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/9968/sc000472.png

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7761/sc000473.png

Next, after the unfortunate bayoneting of several more diplomats, French Indochina and the French territories in China are also transferred to Germany

http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/3240/sc000474.png

Finally, the French northern coast is transferred back and Germany annexes much of Eastern France. The critical Belgian chocolate factories form a pretext for German annexation of nearly all of Belgium, and controlling the rest as a puppet.

Lastly, the rest of the French government is relocated 800 kilometers directly to the west of Paris and Pétain is installed as the leader of France, though rumours suggest that the country is in fact ruled from the newly opened German coffeehouse just down the street from the National Assembly.

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/6223/sc000476.png

In the east, Tsar Nicky is reluctant to sign anything. Despite reminders using shoulder-poking diplomats, blunt sticks and automatic weapons, it takes until October to get him to sign the peace treaty.

Under the treaty, many nations of eastern Europe are liberated. Poland gets independence but is immediately annexed and oppressed by Germany. Ukraine, Byelorussia and the Baltics declare independence, but German and Austrian coffehouses are opened in their capitals as well.

Taking advantage of the weakness of the Russian Empire, Finland and serveral nations in the Caucasus declare independence from Russia.

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/118/sc000477.png

Finally, showing the world that they were not really pointy-helmet wearing brutes, Germany releases Luxembourg as a puppe...independent nation.

The Scandinavian Wars, Pt. 1

December, 1917 - August, 1918

Not for a hundred years has such a determined and successful attempt to conquer the continent been seen. With the Entente defeated, nothing stands in the way of complete Austro-German domination of Europe.

German-Danish War

December, 1917 - January, 1918

Barely 50 years have passed since the Danes were defeated in the Battle of Dybbøl and forced to concede Schleswig and Holstein. Now, standing in the way of the German's path to Scandinavia, the Danes will be at war with Austria and Germany once more.

With the breakdown of diplomacy, war is declared in early December. Harsh winter effects both sides, but with over 60 divisions thrown into the invasion by the Germans, the Danes are heavily outnumbered.

Attacks are launched from Schleswig into the northern Jutland peninsula, capturing Århus quickly. German troops cross the Fehmarn Belt into Copenhagen and, despite fierce resistance, capture the Danish capital and force the garrison to surrender. The remains of the Danish army are chased into Aalborg and Odense, where the Danish king leads his men to a last stand, but ultimately the Danish army surrenders, leaving Germany in control of mainland Denmark.

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/3728/sc000510.png

With Denmark itself under German hands, only Iceland is left to be occupied. A single transport flotilla is sent to land a division in Reykjavik but is intercepted and forced to withdraw by the remains of the Danish fleet. The battleships of the High Seas Fleet are detached and sent to aid the invasion.

http://www.cityofart.net/bship/sms_das_flotte.jpg

The 21 battleships soon meets the Danish squadron, a protected cruiser and a Torpedo Boat flotilla, in the waters of Faxa Bay. Within hours, the unequal battle is ended with the complete annihilation of the Danish fleet. Soon after, a German division is landed in Reykjavik and, encountering no resistance, proceeds to occupy all of Iceland.

The German-Danish War has ended, January 29th, 1918.

German Invasion of Norway

February - April, 1918

War is declared on Norway in late February. German divisions land in Ålesund and start marching north towards Narvik. A German army tries to land in Christiania, but due to failed intelligence, lands right under the guns of the main body of the Norwegian army. The Ålesund force is ordered to sweep south but High Command does not believe it will make it on time. Unexpectadly, the Norwegian army retreats just hours before the German landing would have been broken, conceeding the Norwegian capital to the Germans.

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/7458/sc000529.png

http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/7704/sc000530.png

More troops are landed as Southern Norway is cut off, German troops begin moving to clear out the area as more troops push north. Landings are made in Narvik as Trondheim falls to the German advance. The Norwegian flotilla is forced out of it's port to fight the German fleet and is thoroughly crushed in the Trondheim Fjord. By April 3rd, Norway falls completely into German hands.

German-Finnish War

May - August, 1918

Though not originally a target in the German invasion plan, Finland was seen as an excellent place for basing the Austrian *CENSORED* and therefore also became a victim of the Central Powers' aggression, despite it gaining independence less than a year before.

German troops thrust southeast from Norway, encountering light resistance from the recently formed Finnish army. Austrian troops land in Turku and proceed to occupy Helsinki and the southern Finland without much opposition. Finland surrenders on August 3rd.

August - October, 1918

The strongest of the Scandinavian countries and the original target of this whole business. Sweden is the last major power on the continent left uncrushed. Despite thorough planning, delays mean the *CENSORED* could not be used against Sweden.

On the 28th of August, hundreds of thousands of German troops cross the Swedish border from all directions. Swedish troops attempt to hold the invasion off but the outnumbered Swedish army is soon outflanked through the numerous gaps in the line. German divisions in Copenhagen cross the Øresund into Sweden and begin marching towards Stockholm.
