Getting ready to start my 5th patrol and got orders to grid AN36 . haven't been up that way at all ( from Wilhelmshaven ). So far all my patrols end up taken me to either the AM , BE or BF grids in the Atlantic . Just for a heads-up , whats the main action I should expect ? Convoys , Task Forces , Loaners , Large Merchants , Tankers , D- all the above ? This info will help me determine my load out . Thanx :yeah:
Did you start your career in 1939? If no then what year is it for your captain?

i'm playing feb 1940, i'm on my 4th patrol in U-36 and my last 2 patrols were both north atlantic convoy routes.
all i've got were single ships tootling along. hell i went into lock ewe and found 1 t2 tanker (and a hell of alot of destroyers!) but not seen a convoy yet.
i have 3 torps left in my bow tubes and i reckon i'll prolly trip accross one any day now :wah:
some people seem to only get convoys, others just singles. all depends what year your running.
A lot depends on the date. Without looking at the chart, I guess ,the Norwegian campaign could play a role
sorry its May 1940
sorry its May 1940
The Battle of Narvik took place on 28 May 1940
You may find all sorts of traffic from task forces to convoy, to lots of British and friendly aircraft. Be careful not to sink our ships. :salute::salute::salute:

So have you made it to you patrol area? Did you come across any Capital Ships? Our landing troops need protection from the sea!
B.P. yes i did make it, it took about 30 hours ( game time, LOL ). I got there and did a SAVE. Been kinda busy getting some stuff done around the house the last few days, you know the drill. But anyway, the weekend is here :yeah: And its all mine. And actually, no I haven't really contacted anything thing ALLIED yet, just a few friendlys going in the opposite direction. No problem though. I went straight up the Danish coastline at 9kts, in clear weather ( wish I had that in patrol 4, where it rained 17 out of 32 days ). I would imagine theres not many ALLIED ships that venture too close to Germany and Denmark in early-mid 1940 ( May ). So anyway, as mentioned above the weekend is here, I have 14 torpedo's, 220 shells, onboard and most impotently, a 30pack in the frig, I'll find something I'm sure. LOL. Jerry
