Ok, not much lately, but had one in Tiger Vs. T-34. The mission was to counter Soviet tank attack. It all went great, I had a nice little spot from where to take down the enemy tanks with my Tiger. Suddenly an Su85 rolled from the forest and as a commander I pointed the tank to my gunner and what does he do? Target some fricking lowlife infantry guy 300m from the SU85! KABOOM and there goes my Tiger! :damn:

Not doing much gaming on the PC at the moment but here's a couple from my PS3. Others will know what I mean.

**** A) Killzone 2 - Beating Radec in Visari Palace, without dieing on an elite playthrough. (I actually did break my DualShock during this. It's insanely difficult)

**** B) Beating Zico's Time in Wipeout HD. <- Still not done it.

Well that's one I wrote about a long time ago.

Then ofcourse, anytime you fly a mission in IL-2 and all is going great, you're about to win a dogfight when an enemy fires a lucky burst that ofcourse hits your pilot and you dies...

Many times in TF2, when being killed by a frontstab.

Many many many times in L4D when I only get to play Hunter again and again and again and again...

That's an easy one for me. One mission of X-Wing was giving me all kinds of grief. I can't remember all the details but you had to take out a bunch of Tie bombers before they could destroy any of your corvettes and of course Tie Fighters and Interceptors would appear to make things more difficult. Quite an involved mission with you scooting around here and there as new threats appeared. Finally after about 10 attempts, I destroyed the last enemy bomber but my front shields where pretty low and some debris crashed in to me and that was it. Kaboom! AAARRGGHHHH!!!!! I was close to putting my fist through the monitor that day I'll tell you. I think it took me 3 days before I tried that mission again and for whatever reason got it on the first try.

I remember plenty of those frustrating moments when playing the original version of "Elite"! I would build up my ship to the max, ECM, plenty of missles, etc. Have a tough fight with the bad guys, barely survive, and I head for the space station. Take a few attempts at lining up with the entrance, then would have to back off because some ship would be leaving! Finally make my run at getting in, when I am almost in, BAM!!! I get hit by some frickin' ship leaving which destroys my ship!! All that work for nothing, lol

Flying back to base after succesfull mission and dying in a silly landing accident. :damn:

That's not frustrating, that's mandatory...

Mine was in EVE Online about 2 years ago, my corporation just managed to narrowly escape the fall of our old alliance in a massive war and joined another alliance in the hope of getting a more profitable and less enemy-dreadnought-fleet-behind-every-asteroid sort of existence. Now, this was before every major alliance had access to multiple Jump Portals Generators and the only Titans that existed were so rare and expensive that you never actually saw any of them doing anything useful, so everyone had to haul their own stuff across the ~40 jumps required to get to the Alliance's space (Except whatever was carried by available carriers).

We were just about to arrange a move when our new alliance fell into a major war (Those seemed to follow my corporations wherever it went), and the whole thing got completely messed up. So I took my rather expensive battleship (When those things actually were expensive), fit it with warp core stabilizers just to make sure I have some chance to escape if they found me and waited for Alliance chat to say the route is clear. Unfortunately just when I was clearing the most dangerous area a group of 2 enemy Heavy Assault Cruisers decided to come in and tear my expensive battleship (My most valuable possession) apart (Of course the warp core stabilizers failed to save me). I managed to reach Alliance space 3 hours later in a shuttle, but without any useful property and not much money, and I couldn't do anything for quite some time considering deep space is rather dangerous unless you have a big ship...

This, normally, would be rather depressing if you couldn't pay for a new ship, but it was even more depressing considering one of the people who killed me was a former member of the corporation I was in and who I knew quite well. I vowed vengeance, but I never got it. :nope:

Playing "Extreme Warfare Revenge" which is a cool freeware wrestling promotion management sim. My promotion was on the virge of going under due to poor attendance at my shows and because a good portion of my great talent suddenly ditched me leaving me with wrestlers that most people didn't care about.
I finally signed "Kurgan" who had just been let go from the WWF. Being a former WWF star, he was quite the draw for my promotion and I immediately built up plotlines where he decimated his way through all the wrestlers in my promotion until he was to finally face my popular world champion. The audiences seemed to LOVE the angle with him and I gained this huge following making Kurgan and his quest of destruction the focus of my shows.

Everything was great ! Approval ratings were soaring ! I was making boatloads of cash for my promotion !! So I decided to blow a large amount of money on having a HUGE show with Kurgan fighting my current champion for the title !!!
The day of the big event, Kurgan got in a car accident or something and was put out of action for a year ! Needless to say.. I had to rewrite my script for that entire show because of that because Kurgan's quest was the main focus.
The audience was PISSED when they didn't get their match. Approval ratings plummeted. Ticket sales plummeted. I got complaints in my (in game) email from the owners that we were losing money !!!! My promotion almost went under in a matter of 2 months because of that fiasco.

Ah yes, the Gran Turismo license tests... There has been many times that I've become frustrated with those tests. You go a fraction faster through a corner and the car gets just enough on the grass. FAIL, and that annoying music plays. :damn:

And that Trial Mountain license test with the Nissan Skyline has to be the most frustrating license test of all. :x

Sometimes I feel like if that annoying anti-spin driving aid could be turned off for license tests, then I could probably set a better time. It only slows you down and creates massive understeer.

Ehr, society has degraded into a state where the people are kept "down" by very strict control, particularly on what they are told. Most people have just given up, but some still resist this regime-like state. Faith is a runner that carries messages as part of this resistance. Kinda like the resistance during WWII, but in a modern setting.

At least, that's what I make of it. The game BSODs on the exact same spot in the training area every time.

This is more of a stupid mistake on my part but anyways...

I was playing SHIII and had just narrowly escaped 2 destroyers and 3 or 4 swordfish, so I tell my navigator to return to course, not knowing that the course now took me right into an island. So the time acceleration slows to one, I have no idea why so I go up on deck and use binaculars and right in front of me about 200 feet away is land. Desperately trying to turn away I crash anyway.

And that ended the 29th patrol of my campaign, and my veteren crew.

Also, the carrier landing missions in FSX. I only got it right once.

Several levels in littlebigplanet.

There are many more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Bah, that's nothing! Ever played the Driver series? Now, THAT is hard. In most of the chase missions, you cant do a single mistake and everything from braking to driving lines have to be almost flawless to accomplish the mission.

Of course, it doesnt help that there's traffic and at times the guy you are chasing shoots or throws stuff at you. :damn:

ARGGGH! The dreaded CTD in ETW is driving me nuts! I get it a lot, the smoke and blood mod included in AUM is not helping!

So, as the battle wears on, the field gets smokier and smokier, the more units the bigger the chance of CTD. Add rain or snow and its all over.:nope:

Far Cry - in the secret base where you're supposed to rescue what's her name. Towards the very end of the level, you find yourself at the bottom of a large, cavernous lab. You're told the only way to proceed further is to flood the lab so you can reach a ventilation shaft in the ceiling. (Of course! Makes perfect sense.)

So I would hit the button, wait the eternity for the water to rise to the ceiling, take an even longer eternity sloooooowly climbing through the shaft, until I would drop down into a hallway guarded by one of the mutants with rocket launchers. And die. A lot. After about 20 tries, I figured I'd just run past the mutant - great, except then I had to confront the mutants that could leap 300 yards and kill you in one hit. The last save point was just before hitting the button to flood the lab, so I had to go through the entire process over and over again (which must have taken a minute and a half each time), just to be killed again and again. Finally, as if by some miracle, I made it past the leaping mutants, and opened the door to the next room. There I saw what's her name...and three more leaping mutants, who ignore her and take me out in seconds...sending me right back to the beginning, again.

I swore until I was blue in the face.

It must have taken me 75 tries to get past that part. I replayed Far Cry a year later, and I made sure to have a rocket launcher with me, just for that level. That time it only took maybe 5 attempts.

Had a great round going playing a sniper in BF2 the other day. Had died once (enemy commander used his arty to kill me, sucks to be this good :O:) but had gotten quite a few kills already. I spawned back in from the Refinery (the map was Dragon Valley) and started to make my way towards the River Village or Hill village, anywho, that flag near Refinery & Power Station. Again, ragged in some kills along the way and got into a good position to guard the flag. US team was attacking the flag so kills were easy and plenty.

Then I started to hear automatic fire from the area left of me, I saw a guy spraying the flag with his SAW and immediately got my sights on him. He turned around in a 0.001 seconds and his first round hit me in the head, firing full auto from 150m distance and before he had completely turned towards me. And that marked my first death to a ****ING WANKER TOSSER ****EATING AIMBOTTING ****!!! :damn:

So, Forgotten Hope...

Battle was...I can't remember the map but it had a town on an island in a river, one bridge on both sides, Americans on the top and Germans on the bottom. Started playing as US then got teamswitched to the Jerrys. Fair enough, so I spawn back at their main base and take the odd kubelwagon raids up into the town, which usually ended in me running into a Sherman.
So, I took a Panzer III with side skirts and rumbled up into the town, a Panzer III or IV in front of me took a couple of hits and reversed back to the bridge so I went forward and stopped just by the bend leading around to a clear shot to the US bridge, with a US flag on the right hand side behind some fences. It was a perfect spot, GIs were running across from right to left so I could MG them and whenever a Sherman or Stuart poked its head over the bridge I'd send a shell their way. I'd racked up my sixth or seventh kill when.

Panicked, tried a trick shot guestimating from where my first torps went, but overesitmated and the next spread went harmlessly behind. WHY??? I'd carefully measured the speed. I'd calibrated my persiscope to a 90 degree angle to the ship's path. I'd even set the range so that the little red marker on the stopwatch would tell me when my eels would send that ship to davy jones.

Then I realised that I'd set AOB from the port side rather than the starboard side.

Four eels gone, and a Granville freighter steaming merrily away into the distance.

Facepalm.

Turned off the game and got drunk.

Well, two FFFUU moments (although i admit both of them were my fault).

case 1: Its somewhere in the end of the 80's, me and a friend are playing some soccer game, it was called OMNI-SOCCER if I remember right.
The game had a neat feature - if u shutdown the PC in middle-game - its an auto-lose for you on this match.
Its the finales, we have been climbing the league ladder for weeks (real-time), we were leading 2-1, 40 sec left for the match and my leg gets entangled in the PC power-cord...match-ends!! :wah: (Luckily my fried spared my life, but it was real close).

case 2: OPERATION FLASHPOINT, Resistance expansion. The mission where you need to load the truck at the beach with smaggled us weapons and run for it to a point on some mountain near some trees (and a few houses i think). I load, i drive ditching tanks and a pesky mi-24 chopper, great driving there, looking at the map from time to time, memorizing the map, comparing to the landscape, i reach the point, driving around in circles, everything looks exactly like it should on the map here are the trees here are these houses...common common, where is that end-mission trigger. After pricless 30 sec, chopper coming, i look again in the map...only to find out im circling the wrong mountain top, 500 m from the true location...joke is on me...and also a salvo of russian rockets :dead:
(BTW it was one of these moments i got completly stunned by this awsome game with all it bugs...a feeling that no game had given me since then, including ARMA).

After completing the tasks in the mission "Courier" in DCS: Black Shark I taxied on to the grass by mistake. When I tried to get back to the taxiway the helicopter made a sudden movement and the lower rotor was damaged.

Couldn't taxi to the building and complete the mission. :damn:

Same thing happened on the mission "Shooting Range"

Having spent some time (30 - 60 minutes) trying my best to blow stuff up, I returned to base to rearm when I managed to damage my lower rotor yet again while taxiing. Yay!! :nope:

The lack of quick save in the Ps3 version of Farcry 2 has led to many F---- moments especially when Malaria, gun jams, and guns exploding randomly come in.

One mission in particular stands out. You have to blow up a truck full of Nitrous Oxide for one of the two main factions. My second highest buddy asks that I subvert the mission by stealing an O-ring from the nearby post office, using it to fix the truck, and then driving the truck to a garage. I stole the O-ring and was assaulting the base with the best sniper rifle in the game. I had killed most of the enemies using the rifle and a fire I created with Molotov's. I climb into the sniper tower looking over the area and see enemies standing next to a several propane tanks, what an easy shot. The tanks explode killing the last baddies, but it also creates a huge fire. Said fire ends up surrounding the truck and destroying it. :damn:

I reload the mission and try again. This time I try to avoid shooting the tanks, I get attacked by a group of enemies near the tanks and start to back up hopping they'll follow and be mowed down by my SAW. The bastards end up shooting the tanks themselves, killing all of them. I then made a mad dash to the truck and got it fixed and drove it out before the fire could reach it. I almost failed the mission twice after words, once where I got the truck stuck in a narrow canyon, and the second time when I have to help the buddy clear out an area of guards. He goes down and I rescue him, only to be downed myself. Luckily Delivering the truck raised the buddy into the number 1 slot, making another buddy come to the rescue.

Far Cry 2 is an awesome game, but can unfair at times. Like when you go head to head against a Swamp boat with the grenade launcher, before you can do anything you are usually blown to little pieces.

In GTA4, I do not like getting busted, since you lose your weapons. Especially since I"m usually packed with full M4, SMG, and grenades. Most of the time I try to escape or die if I get a wanted level. If I get busted, I usually reload my game.

I had finished a days worth of missions and I was heading back to my apartment to save. Since I'm on foot I decide to steal a car, before I could drive 5 feet I was busted. I exited out of the game. Only to realize that I had not been using autosave and just lost all my progress. :rotfl2:

Work my way in close and wait for the DD to cross my path within 1,200 yards works out well and I set up tubes 1-3 and tubes 7 & 8. Fast with contact triggers.

Sure enough the DD crosses right accross my bow ! set up the shots and loose tubes 1 & 2 for the center of the boat, tube 3 slightly ahead of his path as I know he is going to scoot as soon as he sees 1 & 2.

Fish 1 makes its way out a good shot ! Watching with the external camera my heartbeat increases as the torpedoe closes on a perfect intercept path 5 seconds... tick tick tick... DOINK ! Torpedo was a dud sir :damn: Well good thing I fired two. Of course the DD goes to flank and the second fish passes astern. AHA ! I got em now as he sails right into the path of the third fish... DOINK... dud

Had already started my turn turning hard at flank by now the DD was hauling butt and was going to crross my stern quite quickly.

Set up the shots from the stern tubes... fire 7 only 20 seconds run time... fire 8 !... again I watch excitedly as the No 7 fish meets on a perfect intercept path.... DOINK  dud... Well good thing I fired a second... watch in dismay as the last torpedo slips beneath the keel of the DD and keeps on going. I had forgot to change the depth on No 8 :damn:

Five fish shot 3 duds two misses :shifty:.

On the bright side one of the wayward torpedoes struck a landed HK6 and set it ablaze :haha:

I've been fighting off the allies with very little than few medium tank destroyers and panzerfaust now for 6 turns. On the 7th turn, I finally got my SS panzer divisions to counter-attack the beaches, now this is 15+ Panzer IV H's that I have per division.

Currently I'm attacking Juno beach that is defended with 2 tanks and infantry, after kazilliont try I still havent captured it. Because of the sneaky allied infantry or the amazingly accurate naval barrages? NO! Because of one fricking Sherman that seems to be carrying some cloaking device straight from some science fiction show!

Here's just few outcomes in my ventures to destroy the tosser.

Try #1

I took 4 Panzer IV H's plus 2 command tanks (I believe those were IV H's aswell). At the start I blew up the firefly that was sitting near the beach and started to move forward. When I got thru the hedgerows I lost one tank to a shot that came from my flank. I saw the muzzleflash coming from next to a 4 story building. Another shot immobilised another one of my tanks, so I decided to rush the corner with all my armor. Shot after shot my tanks blew up without me ever seeing the Sherman.

Try #2951

**** the infantry, I went tank only. From past tries I knew the sherman would be sitting around the same building everytime, so I split my tanks into two groups and went in from north and south. After losing 4-5 tanks, one of my panzers put on Xray classes and managed to spot the tank (Wohoooo!!!). I carefully moved abit forward to get line of fire and once I had it, I ordered the tank to shoot. What happened next was just awesome. Instead of shooting (well it did shoot one shell, but missed by 20 miles), my panzer kindly turned 180 degrees and let the sherman shoot it right into the pooper.

I cant even start to describe how much I love this game. It's things like this that really makes me want to take the CD out of the tray and give it a kiss and a hug. BEFORE THROWING THE ****ING THING OUT THE WINDOW!!! :damn:

This is on a clean machine only software i have on is a couple of other games. All drivers are updated, including Windows XP updates with sp3, directx, sound drivers and mobo drivers - updated. Tried just SH4 and 1.4 without mods still crashes, so then tried with the uboat missions still crashes no mods added. uninstall/reinstall sh4 twice to no affect. SH4 just wont play now I have no friggin idea. Anyone have this weird problem, never had an issue like this with the game before.

Only other reason i can think of is i might have faulty ram, but if this is true wouldn't the other games crash as well as surely Crysis is way more a system hogger on the hardware than SH4 is. I'm getting to the point where SH4 dvd is going to become a permanent frizzbie any day now....

I was flying an IL-2 Sturmovik: Pacific campaign, and was flying an American Dauntless career. The Coral Sea mission came up, and I successfully took off, found the target, hit an IJN fleet carrier DEAD center on its deck (it really should have sunk, as there would have been ammo/fuel cookoffs, but it's not scripted that way). I got back to my home carrier, successfully landed, and promptly forgot to hit "save" for mission results.

Hour or so ago in WWIIOL:

Cambrai was being attacked by the axis and when the situation started to look bad for the allies, they started to flank us from south. I took a StuG (surprise :DL) and 3 other 3PzG members took AT guns and we headed south.

We blasted stuff (mainly enemy trucks) on the way and got in to pretty good position to repel any incoming enemy armor. I decided to move 1km to the W to guard our flank. The AT guns started to report tank contacts from S and engaged them. I kept silent and hoped I'd get some rear shots to the armor as they started to climb the hill where the AT guns were. And there they were (I counted 5, but the AT guys saw 10+), I pressed E to start the engine so I could turn abit to the right and get perfect shots to their rear armor. The engine coughed a few times and fell silent... my engine was broke and 5+ perfect targets were just 10 degrees out of my turrets reach... FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---- :damn::damn::damn:

EDIT: Ow and to make matters worse, I blew a Panhards engine that drove past me, but it's gunner was still alive, so there it sat, as immobile as I was, shooting with it's peagun 3 ****ing meters from me. Have you any idea how annoying the constant *Clank!* *Clank!* sound of the bbgun hitting my front armor is?! GAAAAH!!

I.... Hate.... This.... ****ing.... Game.

We were attacking this town, called Sechsomething, anyways, not important. Well, the allies decided to get ****loads of Panhards (you know, those little armored cars) and guard the road leading to the town with them. Ok, well I watched ALL of our armor ride along the road DESPITE ****loads of warnings to their deaths.

Ok, that's fine, it's not me dying, so **** them.

I took my stug3b and went to hunt the Pans, bagged two near the road and disabled third's gun. Now comes the best part. The 3rd Pan kept me busy by driving in circles around me while another Pan shot my gun to ****. Right, I made a run for it and the ****ing degunned Pan kept driving infront of me and blocking my way so the other Pans in the area could come and kill me. Just for clarification, we are talking about a Pan that can be killed with a ****ing rifle that just took three (3) 75mm HEAT shells from 3 meters range to it's side and turret. I mean, even our Tiger doesnt take shots like that and survive it! Not even the mighty Stug3g could take that, ffs!

Right, so I got killed by a Pan that was between me and our firebase which nobody seemed to care to report. Goddammit I love this game. :yep:

I was looking for my last run with my freighter before I was to give it to my first employee. I checked the best buy locator and saw that a drone factory was selling their Fighter Drone Mk.II's at almost 6k below the average price. Of course, being the awesome merchant, I went in and bought them. Only after that I realised that there's only one place in the universe that buys them and it was a) kazillionbilliontrillion lightyears away and b) it only could hold like 10 drones, I bought 16.

At this point, I basically lost all my money (I was left with roughly 30k from the 500k I had), my first though was "****", but then I realised that I might turn this into profit afterall by attacking pirate ships and hope they'll bail and I get the ship, I mean, surely 16 Mk.II's should be more than enough for that.

Anyhow, I plotted course to the border worlds to see if I could find something to kill and ofcourse, being the egomaniac, I deployed all the drones to fly around my ship (looked nice). Come first jumpgate I hear a tremendous *KABOOOOOOM*, check my radar and ALL 16 DRONES FLEW RIGHT INTO THE GATE'S SUPERSTRUCTURES!!

I unplug one forcefield but forget to hit the button for another. So I mosey all the way back across the bridge, and even fell to my death once. I get back and I'm thinking "Wasn't there a gunship fight during this part, why else are there all these rocket crates?" I also notice the lack of Ant Lions when I'm back across. This is where it gets worse. I kept getting hit by the train while trying to cross the bridge. Several times I clearly made it and my car still explodes.
One time I made it across the bridge, but had aimed a little to far to the left. The car comes to a stop and I'm thinking I've made it, when the car starts to slide down the hill and over a cliff, killing me again.

As i'm getting ready to fire I hear this loud whiring noise. So i go to outside camera and see a Stuka dive out of the clouds and break the ship in two with one bomb. The Luftwaffe stole my first kill.:stare:

Don't feel too bad. I waited outside a Polish port until hostilities opened with Germany, then went in for some easy kills.

Right.

I snuck into the the harbor and started throwing torpedoes around. After sinking a couple of ships I noticed that there were explosions going off all around me, then we took damage. Turned out the Luftwaffe had the port slated for destruction, and I was right in the middle of target area. *woops*

Survived to sail another day, but the LW bombers had banged up our Uboot and swooped a couple of my kills.

WWIIOL. Was flying Messerschmitt to act as aerial recon for the Kriegsmarine as they launched attack on some town on the northern sector. 30min or so later, I noticed Hurricane on my 6, so I turned to meet him and we passed eachother. We fought for 15 minutes with me being on his tail 90% of that, peppering his plane with my MG and hitting him A LOT. Finally, he gave up after he started to smoke a bit and decided to crashland, being the gent I am (:O:) I flew over him and wiggled my wings at him for a good fight.

When I get back to base, I remember why I HATE, HATE the airwar part of WWIIOL; I got no kill off him. :damn:

Napoleon: Total War. Mod: Europe In Conflict.

Big battle, with me taking moderately heavy casualties due to large number of Danish artillery. Managed to wipe them out with my light dragoons, but not before the infantry had taken a beating. Battlefield was flat with no hills or rise of land whatsoever (Denmark is a very flat country and I must applaud CA's notice to this fact: pretty much every battle I've had in Denmark has been on flat terrain). Danish infantry was mostly line regiments and one or two grenadiers. Heaviest fighting on my left flank. Was a war of attrition until their artillery was gone. Then the battle was mine. Ordered some units to flank the Danes, rearanged my infantry, brought in support from my right flank which saw little to none action. Time left in the timer was about 5-10 minutes. After setting the last needed orders for the foreseeable future I thought I could take my time to take some nice pics to put up here. Pressed Escape to get the menu, and then to go to "User Interface" to turn everything off, so I could get some nice looking pictures. But, my hand twitched an inch so I instead pressed "Quit Battle".

"Close Defeat". Went back to Campaign Map. Army destroyed (including a 4 Star General) except 3-4 decimated units.

Ah yes, Total war games. Got one 'Close Defeat' story to tell too.

I'm currently playing RTW:EB as the Greeks and had just gotten my Spartans (Yeh, I watched '300' few days back, sue me :O:) back from the front for some rest when the stinking Epeiros (sp?) decided to come after the same town my troops were in. After consulting my strategic advisor, Arclight, I decided to go and meet them with the 600-700 Spartans I had.

I was against full stack + 1/3 stack, ~1300-1400 troops, but had a great position on a hill... just one thing.. they didn't attack as I attacked them on the map. :damn: I made a wedge formation and started to march my troops towards their lines in hopes to lure them to attack me, which didn't work. After moving my troops back and forth for 10 minutes and still no attack, I decided to go for a wide line and just rush their formation.

The enemy was exhausted as they had followed my movement the past 10 minutes, going back and forth to keep their distance. My Spartans were in top shape and quickly broke the first line of infantry the enemy had, mainly skirmishers and hoplites. The 2nd line was still holding it's position after I was done with the 1st, so I went straight at them. They were mostly phalanxes which surprised me to see how quickly I broke their lines. I surrounded the general's unit and slay him and started to pursue the remainder enemies that were scattered around.

Sweet victory... it would have been, except the timer ran out; CLOSE DEFEAT

Red Dead Redemption

I'm out in Trall tree's gathering flowers for the Survivalist challenge. I get the last one I need from the area and start heading south towards Armadillo to gather the flowers I need there. I hear gunshots nearby, so naturally I go and see what the commotion is. I come upon a man shooting at some birds. He offers a wager of 50 dollars that I can't kill 4 birds in the allotted time.

Piece of cake, I easily shoot down two birds, but because they seemed to be directly over me, I have to back away a little bit to get a better shot. All of the sudden I hear a loud roar, and I'm swiped by a bear. Before I can do anything, he walks away, while my screen goes black and the words You Are Dead torment me.
:stare:

Also, the other day I'm playing bioshock 2 and I'm near the end. I'm just about to free Eleanor Lamb when my screen along with my room goes black. And I'm bathed in darkness for about a minute. The stupid power had gone out.

Luckily I had gone through a door about 5 minutes prior that had an auto save on it, or I would of lost nearly 2 hours worth of work.

So Instead of getting the last flowers I need, I decided to hunt some Elk while in Tall Trees. I'm roaming around when I hear some gunshots(seems like I need to stop investigating) and I come upon two police officers chasing a criminal. I decide to help by shooting the guy in the back. The only problem is one of the officers runs in front of me, so Marston puts the gun to the back of the head and pulls the trigger. -100 Honor, I kill the criminal, and the other law man is still shooting at me, so I gun him down too, another -100 honor. And a bounty. :haha:

Another moment in Red Dead,

I'm in Armadillo when I see a wanted poster for the guy that I need to kill/Capture to get the Deadly Assassin outfit. I walk over and accept the bounty. I hear screams nearby and see some guy with a knife standing over a hooker trying to kill her. So I pull out my pistol and put a hole through the guy. Normally this is a good act, but for some reason I get a Wanted status, and a Bounty of $2 dollars on my head.

All of the local law enforcement starts shooting at me, so I make a run on my horse towards my bounty target, losing most of them. Except for the ass hat law man who gives chase on horse, and continues firing at me. So I dismount my horse, run up to him and bribe him to leave me alone. Which gives me -400 Honor. If I had killed him I would of kept my 2 dollars and only lost -100 Honor. :haha:

Playing Theatre of War 2: Africa:

I start the first mission in the American campaign where you need to hold a battle line from invading German forces. The left side is AI controlled, the right side belongs to me.

I hold the enemies until reinforcements arrive with only a couple of losses. The German's don't even get near my line and only breached the left side twice. Since I'm new to the game I think I won the mission and exit out. Odd... the next mission isn't available. Apparently I still had to hold the line. :dead:

So I load the mission back up and try again. I lose a tank early, and have a handful of casualties, but still seem to be holding the enemy off just about the time that I can call reinforcements in. Then the left line breaks, and the troops start panicking and retreating on that side. Shortly afterwords my side of the line breaks. :damn:

Play HOI2 as the Soviet Union;

Made it through the Winter War with not that many losses and decided to just take the lands I had claims on, also took over the Baltic states and have made puppet states out of them. Finally, the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact comes, I agree to have half of Polish lands and I use it to mass my Field Armies. 4 Field armies (6 Tank Divisions+6Motorized Divisions per) in the North with 2 OMG Armies (Same layout just 6 Mechanized instead). As well as 6 Field Armies to the south preparing to drive to Budapest and the Slovak Capital with 3 OMG Armies behind them for the break through.

So I launch my counter invasion (pre-empting Barbarossa is so fun..) and have Berlin surrounded within a month as well as the Hungarian and Slovak capitals in hand when all of a sudden the Romanians attack my southern flank and make it up to Stalingrad and then swing north to make a huge pocket including Kiev, Oddessa and Sevastopol..

What the hell? So I send my entire South Western Army group south to crush romania only to realise somehow they've ammassed enough troops to resist my armies and actually managed to liberate hungaria and much of Western Poland from me cutting off my Northern Armies..

FUUUU What the hell?!? How can the Red Army get their asses handed to them after whupping the Wehrmacht as well as the Hungarians and the Slovaks.. :damn:

About 20m below the surface one of the A/C bombs hits me and to the bottom I go (71 meters) and lay on the bottom for 2 hours getting the ship repaired. Here's a map to follow along:
http://eng.x3tc.ru/x3_tc_map

I hear there is an abandoned Toucan Hauler(TP) out in Menelaus' Frontier.(Okay I used a wiki to find this information out, but still.)
I'm currently onboard the Free Argon Trading Station in Herron's Nebula. I go to my ship, undock and make my way towards Atreus' Cloud. When I get there I spend 30 minutes(real time, would have been much longer if it wasn't for time compression) looking for the gate to go north into Rolk's Fate. The reason it takes so long? Atreus cloud has the visibility of a... something that's really foggy. You can't see space stations, gates, let alone asteroids until you're right on top of them.(Or you have Duplex or Triplex sensors, something a new pilot like me does not have.)

Finally giving up I check the star map and see that the other way to my location is back west to Cloudbase Northwest, North to Kingdom End, and then East to my destination.

About 40 minutes later I'm wandering through Queen's Space trying to find the East bound jump gate. This is another low visiblity region, but I had decided to follow traffic backwards. Noticing I hadn't seen anyone in a while I decide to double back. Directly below me is the jumpgate. I was about to fly past it; and if I hadn't had the urge to double back, I probably would have. Thank the heavens.

I'm finally in Menelaus' Frontier. Thinking that the coordinates are in KM and not M(X Co-ordinate is 43,000) I head east. 20 minutes later, I'm at 300KM, when fellow pilot Arc informs me that the co-ordinates are in M.
10 minute flight back the way I came.
Finally I find the ship hidden behind a giant Asteroid. Now by this time it's 3:00AM local time, and I'm groggy. I leave my ship and slowly float towards the TP in my Space suit. On approach I accidentally fire my repair beam at it. No problem I think, it's a repair beam and the ship is un-piloted. Attempt to claim it again, and I hit it with my repair beam again. Battle music starts playing in my helmet, and my HUD recognizes the ship as a hostile. :dead: The ship starts flying forwards, and it's aft turret becomes active. Before I can respond, let alone think(I was dumbfounded), a laser penetrates my torso, completely vaporizing me.

I snap awake and realize I'm still in the cockpit of my ship, docked in Herron's Nebula. :damn:

ARMA 2

I've tried the Razor Two mission 3 times. And that's not counting the 10 dozen times I've reloaded. First time I ran out of time, and Bardak escaped. Second time I was able to intercept Bardak in Gorka. Put several rounds in his hood making him get out and run. I chase after him, but not knowing how I'm supposed to "Arrest him" I talk to him while running, causing him to glitch and stand in place. Without thinking, I put a bullet through his gray matter. Only to be taken to the next mission. Whoops.

So I look online on how to capture him and find out that I have to chase him, and then he'll eventually stop and a cutscene will play, I also find out that I can just go to Gorka and use time compression. So I drive my HMMV with machine to Gorka, park and wait. Finally I get the message that he's fleeing, and I wait some more on the road he came down last time. I hear a car behind me and realize he's on another road.

I quickly run over and infront of his car. He's attempting to turn around when I put out 3 of his 4 tires and put a couple rounds into his engine block, and side panels. The bastard drives off and I give chase on foot(as he drove onto grass) I round a corner and despite not having heard an explosion, find him dead in his flaming car. :damn:

Better yet, keep them like they've been in zillion games for years now: F5 or F6 for quick save and F9 for quick load. :yep:

The other day I plugged in my 360, went to the marketplace and checked on the price of the 3 Mass Effect 2 DLCs.

They were 200MS points a piece($2.50), and I have 500MS points floating around. Thinking that this was their normal price, I didn't bother purchasing them, and went on to do other things.

Turns out that it was a 1 day only sale, and they're back to 560MS($7.50) points a piece for two of them, and 800MS($10.00) points for the last one. :damn:

Now, to get them I'm going to need to buy 1600MS points($20.00), plus use the 500MS points I have still sitting there. :shifty:

Edit: Skip ahead to the landing.

It's a night landing and I have a beautiful view of the runway. Following the "ball" in and everything is perfect. Using the Numpad for control as I'm too lazy to whip out my joystick and deal with trying to calibrate it.

This is going to be a perfect landing. Until the stress(It's a pain in the ass to land a shuttle, I have a high failure rate. Hell, I have a high failure rate landing anything that doesn't land itself :rotfl2:) I forget that up and down are reversed and end up pushing the nose into the ground.

My 70-something man Swedish company launches another raid into Poland after helping destroy most of the Polish army around Polotsk. After burning a bunch of innocent villages along the way, we run into a Polish army about twice our size (Which is not a big problem, since my troops are fairly veteran while the Polish troops tend to be mostly junk militia after the losses they've suffered lately). The battle is going well, and the majority of the Polish troops decide they've had it and start running away. Naturally, I order the cavalry to pursue and join in the murdering. However, when I come to chop the head off of a hapless mercenary, he suddenly decides that he's not so hapless and swiftly murders (Or knocks unconscious) me with his pike. As it always does when you're knocked unconscious, my army sounded the retreat despite easily winning earlier, losing me decidedly more men than I'd have liked for absolutely no gain. Now I have to get back to friendly territory, hopefully without being annihilated on the way...

HOI3, as Germany, I invade Poland, however before DOWing them I sent my Western Theatre infantry corps to their positions on the Siegfried line. Figuring they'd reach it in time before the French realized or would launch any attacks.

Poland goes off without a hitch, so easy in fact that I don't even decide to deploy my panzertruppes. Instead they stay in Central Germany. Lo and behold, as the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler finally walks into Lvov and Poland surrenders, I get a ton of messages about the Western Front being taken over by the French!

I go to see that my infantry for whatever reason have barely moved and that the French have taken position in the Northern Siegfried line.. :damn: So I send in my tanks and try to sweet around north and trap them against the Swiss border which eventually works. At first I thought to take it slow, as it was mid September by this point and I didn't know if I could sustain a drive for all of the French VP points. "Ah what the hell", so I immediately VP bitz the french cities with my panzers and what ensues is my panzers capturing almost all points and then the french bursting out of the pockets they were trapped in to take over captured VPs.. (Goddamn infantry generals are going up against a wall..). Finally, after 3 weeks of hunting down French VPs, I get the Vichy events that means France has surrendered. Click yes ---> Immediate CTD. Well, it's a good idea to at least patch it to version 1.4, since that fixes a ton of problems with the stock game. Getting the expansions (and patching them too) is a good idea as well, since they fix even more problems with the game and add quite a few nice features as well.

I feel like such a noob, but i started playing Men of War for the first time, and last night i constantly failed the first mission in the soviet campaign. I took the village and the hill, but i simply couldnt beat back all those infantrymen on the supply line

It was always a terrible defeat for me. Sometimes id get a track blown off and in a hurried attempt to fix it my crew member repairing the tank got blown away. Most of the time i would try focusing on the armored cars and panzers but ended up not being able to stop the infantry from throwing a grenade that blows off my turret or destroys my tank entirely. So what i ended up doing was simply getting off the hill and backing up near the river. I was able to keep the infantry away from me and the tanks destroyed. So i eventually FINALLY won the mission after about 30 tries, and went to bed. mind you i was playing on hard and my tank had little ammunition to begin with after taking the hill, so i really had to tweak my gameplay styles.

I come back today and APPARENTLY the save files are corrupted, so now i have to replay the mission over again >.>

I also have somewhat of a rant/question. in HOI3, i play as the soviets. Its 1939 and Germany already started the war with poland. So i decide to join in. I blow through the poles, and capture maybe 40-50% of the country including warsaw. But Poland doesnt surrender, they keep fighting. And germany owns the other half of poland. Ive been waiting months and months and nothing has happened yet. Poland hasnt gone to either side, nor given up the "fight" (they have no troops left and still show up as a faction). What the Heck! I cant tell if this is supposed to happen or not. Because i still dont own the territory i conquered, niether does germany with its land, and poland doesnt seem to be officially surrendering? What do i do?

In effect you control their land (the areas with the lines going through it). However, they now have a government in exile. Also, you gain no "cores" (provinces which are historically german/russian have cores on them). Because you're "occupying" their land" you can't annex them until you defeat GB and destroy the Allies (and their government in exile).

well that blows for me. Cause now i have germany with their massive heavy tank divisions right on and in my territories, and not enough AT to beat them back effectively when war comes.

Also, for anyone who plays men of war, i simply CANNOT beat the 5th mission in the soviet campaign, the penal colony, where you take the hill and defend it. I made a very sloppy mistake when i tried taking the hill, my only t34 got one-shotted by a pak i didnt see, and so when i captured the hill i had only the 2 paks and 3 AA guns left and 9 infantrymen (armed to the teeth with as many At grenades they can carry).

And after a few tries i finally held the hill with men still on top and defending when the timer hit 0. but I STILL lost the mission. I dont know why either, i held the hill. Am i supposed to attempt to protect the last stragglers of the armored convoy? Or can there simply not be germans on the hill when the timer goes down? Or am i supposed to eliminate them all before th e timer runs out?

Because ive tried twice, succeeding both times in defending the hill and i STILL cannot win the mission.

So, there I was sitting on a road overlooking a river in my little StuG III with a Panther sitting a bit further up the hill behind me. On the other side of the river was the Allied route of advance, and between myself and the Panther we had already seen off two or three Shermans and a couple of Cromwells. It had gone quiet for a while, and I figured that most of the tank drivers on their team had figured that trying to take that route was a good way to get killed...so I thought, "I'll advance up to the next hill and hide myself near some wrecked static German vehicles to get the drop on any advancing tanks!"
So, I put the StuG into gear and rolled through the ford and up the other side of the river, and up the hill, and was just about to move myself into position near the wrecks when BLAM, I exploded.
What the hell killed me?

The bloody Panther. :damn: He must have been blind not to have seen me cross the river and head up the hill, or stupid... :dead:

Also, for anyone who plays men of war, i simply CANNOT beat the 5th mission in the soviet campaign, the penal colony, where you take the hill and defend it. I made a very sloppy mistake when i tried taking the hill, my only t34 got one-shotted by a pak i didnt see, and so when i captured the hill i had only the 2 paks and 3 AA guns left and 9 infantrymen (armed to the teeth with as many At grenades they can carry).

Ugh I'm still stuck around that point. Kept recieving AT grenades and always blown up before I could even proceed :dead:

Operation Flashpoint, 1985

There was this mission where I tagged along with an engineer to lay AT mines on a road somewhere. Then the two of us had to lay in wait for a Russian armor column to roll through and hit our mines. Our job from there was to mop up anything that survived. OFP AI being as it is, when the tanks rolled in my commander took it upon himself to fire a LAW at point blank range into the side of a passing tank. The resulting blast blew us both to shreds and the mission was a failure. Mandatory retry -- or IRL terms, a white headstone inscribed with my service branch, name and rank at the hometown cemetery. "Here lies krashkart, blasted to bits by dumb AI..." :nope:

All of my "moments" lately have been GTA, but it's the only thing I'm really playing as of late.

Anyways, I'm bowling with Michelle, we played two games. In the first one she beat me by a good 30 points. In the second game I'm wiping the floor with her. I finish my last turn at 132 points, she's at 103. I'm pretty much thinking I have the game set, and what does Michelle do?

She %&$****** rolls 3 strikes in a row. :damn:

She wins by 1 point. :stare:

Supreme Commander 2 + DLC

For those who even tried playing SupCom 2 with DLC know this feeling. It was an online match. 3v3. All of us on my team were UEF and the others were Cybran. One of the Cybran players obvously had a larger force being pumped out than the other so the team elected to nuke him. Little did we know he had boomerangs, the DLC unit that literally makes nukes turn to where they came from.:o All of us had our silos in various areas of our own bases... needless to say we lost... :damn:

Nuke defense doesn't counter your own missiles?

DaDeathProject

Not sure. We had all spent our anti-nukes on a violent salvo from the Cybran team. I forgot to mention that.

IL-2 1946 - Korean Theater of Operations

I put together a nice little BAI mission in the FMB and was hoping to send a full squadron of B-25J's over to Pusan to help drive the North Koreans off the line there. The flight was to start from an airbase in Japan and across the Tsushima Straits. Perfect, right? :DL

WRONG!! :stare:

I save the mission, click play and load the sim. I get my plane off the ground and set up orbit around the airfield while the rest of my squadron takes off. Everything looks great until I notice that the other planes are flying too low to make it over the hills at the end of the runway. Then one by one:

*SMACK!!*
"This is Two. I'm hit! I'm bailing out!"
*SMACK!!*
"This is Three. I'm taking damage!"
*SMACK!!*
"This is Four..."

...one by one my buddies fly themselves into the side of a hill. I stick around long enough to watch four or five little fireballs erupt on the side of that hill before I finally call bull and exit the sim. One hour of tedious work down the drain because the AI can't outmaneuver a terrain feature. :damn:

One can never trust IL-2's AI to do anything right except die (and even that they often don't manage). But it wouldn't be too hard to just edit the mission and give them a waypoint to turn away, or at least have them take off from the other end of the runway if that doesn't work, would it?

I hadn't thought of that. I guess I can scrape the duct tape off the monitor now. (That didn't fix the problem either... :nope: )

Yeah, I've had a few awkward moments while changing my formations around.

Get Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory (and patch it fully) if you don't already have it.

Hands down the best AI I've seen in a flightsim, almost scary how human it can be at times. :yep:

I still have the disk for that around here somewhere. That is by far one of the most awesome sims I've ever flown in. :)

Original IL-2

I'm flying my BF109 in formation. We are going on a fighter sweep. We get to the target area and some of those Russian Biplanes show up. (Dont remember what those are) So we break formation and go. My career is well along. Got medals and promotions and stuff. Alright, going after my prey. Red One flies in a big loop and Red 4 is going in a loop the opposite way. I manage to get Red One with my cannon. I swear, Red 4 fired ONE BULLET right through the cockpit glass. Nice little hole and everything. My pilot has died. I sit and watch as my engine overheats and dies and my beautiful 109 drops like a rock. Red 4 got lucky. He came out of that loop firing too late and one fricking bullet rips thru my cockpit.

Once again, as in every patrol so far, I have dived to avoid being sunk by some two-bit ship with a few guns on. Then, without any warning at all, I was depth-charged by a destroyer ( or maybe that two-bit ship had DC racks) and a charge landed really damn close to my submarine. The thing explodes about 30 feet away, doing severe damage to the sub, but (crucially) doesn't sink it. The ship revs up and pulls away, circling around as I dive to 100-or-so metres. He charges me again, and I pull hard to starboard and get away. The ship follows me for the next, well god knows. He brings along mates (three Hunt destroyers) and then takes turns at trying to sink my poor little ship. I already have 18 dead. Yes. You saw that correctly, EIGHTEEN DEAD. I lose another 5 wounded and 2 dead, with one wounded being my Navigator. So now, I have to rely on someone totally incompetent for a Navigator.
I finally get away from these guys by using a lot of decoys, and I get back into Wilhelmshafen. A bit too fast, it seems, as my boat is unable to stop in time and crashes headlong into the harbour, almost wrecking it. That's the last time I try and get back safely
23 dead, 15 injured. Not a great start to the war....

Crysis(The PSN version).
I'm playing the game on Delta or whatever the higher difficulty is called(not sure if it's the Highest).

I'm on the beach where you have to get past the armored soldiers right after disabling the jammer(very early in). I'm taking out soldiers predator style(de-cloaking, taking shots, and then recloaking). The enemies fire in random directions out of fear. I kill everyone but the guy on the MG in the hummer copycat. I sneak behind the hummer, put a couple rounds into the gas tank on the back and wait for it to explode. It catches on fire, but the fire goes out. The guy hops out and runs away from it. I shoot the tank a few more times hoping it'll go while he's in the blast radius, but nothing happens.

Perplexed I approach the vehicle. I come around the side to fire at him while he's still running away. He turns around, shoots at me, and kills me. :dead:

I turned off the game.

Although I'm thankful the truck didn't explode with me next to it, had it, I would've probably rage quit and then deleted the game. :haha:

In terms of the PSN(XBLA) version(s) both systems can handle Crysis, however EA/Crytek decided to make the game downloadable instead of a full disk. So the files are only like 3gigs. Which results in lower quality textures, and a shortened view distance(was noticible wihle I was aiming at someone from a distance, they'd come in and out of "focus" making it hard to aim). If they had made it a full disc version, or even a bigger file, the game would be on par with a PC on medium.

Also, my PC CPU and GPU can handle Crysis on high. My internal soundcard however, cant handle Crysis at all, so the sound is glitchy which makes me not want to play it on the PC.

I got trollfaced earlier.

I love it when you are playing a 2 vs 2 and your partner has the same guild tag as your opponents.

Yeah... So fun, but hey looks good on their stats.

See why I avoid multiplayer anything now?

Way too many guilds, cheats, wallhacks, auto aimers, etc, to make it worth my time

edit, though I am getting one thing they are not, sex... (I do not even have to blow her up first) :D Losers.

Anyone like SC2?

LOL, my favorite is when you try to level off, and your sub thinks it is tied to someone the mafia clipped and goes to the bottom.

SH3-4-5 all gave me one of those, but I suck so it could be me.

I accelerate and even blow tanks, yet I sink like a brick.

I figured out why it happens though.

God most likely hates you (me,us).:D

Xenonauts

Had my first terror mission and uh.. well it could've gone a bit better. :dead:

The first 4-5 turns went ok, secured the area around the Chinook and killed few
aliens in the process. Started to move down the street with two 4-man teams,
seemed clear to me. I continue on, checking every corner as I go...
except for one, which I forgot.

I end the turn and, as they say, **** hit the fan. Turns out there were 2 Androns
behind the corner I failed to check. And a third one came into view from front
left. Long story short: 4 turns later, out of the 8 soldiers + the Ferret AC, only
one was alive. All because of a small mistake I made. :dead:

And I loved it!
