It was patrol #7, June 1940, heading down to CG85 when I got a contact at long range off to starboard in BE6626. After surfacing and heading on a rough intercept course, I eventually saw that it was a British Large Merchant all alone on a heading of 045° at about 7kts. As it was still some distance away I increased TC slightly (8x I think) to alleviate the waiting and corrected the intercept course. Just for a second I glanced away from the screen (needed my coffee, it'd been a long night), it couldn't have been more than 2-3 seconds... the ship vanished! One second clearly in view through the UZO, next second - gone! I stared in disbelief at the screen, no mistake, it was not there. So, after I'd stopped swearing, I headed back on course to CG85, increased TC to 64x and put it down to misfortune - it must've been the end of the scripted track and I'd caught the vanishing-act and lost ±10,000 tons. "Schiff Gesichtet" came the cry and I was jolted back to x1 TC. There was my Large Merchant, bang at the position it had vanished at and back on its original course/speed and all set to be sent to the bottom. Anybody experienced this strange happening at all? Or have I come across a mini Bermuda Triangle to the NW of Spain? :06:

It's not that you are in a parallel universe, your wife is. The SHIII is actually the real world and you living your life when not playing the game is actually you on a U-boot killing time by playing a very realistic game of sims

BulSoldier - Customs & Immigration are still holding my steak & kidney puddings for forensic examination (I think they think they're body parts). My Visa is conditional on my not disclosing to the general public that there is life outside of the gaming world. :D

Betonov - I have long been of the opinion that the majority of people I meet are nothing but a bunch of Sims! :haha:

Most likely as you've stated.....scripted to disappear when reaching its final waypoint.

Yes!

And this forum is not really an "INTERNET FORUM" because the "INTERNET" does not exist.
The "INTERNET" is simply a branch on your imagination tree . An escape!
A branch that you have climbed so far out on that you can not get back from. Your simply a cat on the imagination tree.

Someone call the fire department!
