Graphic problem

Hi Guys:
Quick question have this ugly gray graphic problem when floating around sub, I have a gtx285 black edition xxx card so thats not it, probablly a mod, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It could be the card.

I have a GTX 260 superclocked addition myself & have always had nvidia cards playing this game, my previous card was a 7950gx2. I'm here to tell you; this game is really finicky about nvidia's drivers & the newer drivers are even harder to get adjusted right than the older ones were. Apparently the ATI solutions work better for SH4.

I have artifacts & mini-stutters in this game while all the other games I have tried out are fine. I found the best settings I could seem to get & have just resigned myself to them being all I can do until a smater person than me comes up with a solution, be it adjustments or a driver that works well in this game.

Hi and welcome aboard. Do you have the latest driver?
This sometimes will solve a lot of problems.
If you do, I suggest you disable all mods that modify any environment/scene data, and start adding them back to ID the problem. I assume the problem does not occur with just unmodified SHIV.

If it's the mod, then deleting it & re-downloading it will work. Believe me, the mods work. SH4 just hates Nvidia cards (drivers) or vice versa.

I'm not bashing Nvidia or holding ATI up as some shining example either, it's the same with all games; some perform better with Nvidia than ATI & some perform better with ATI than Nvidia & there are quite a few that are fairly well balanced with only a few frames per second to point to as the difference.

My GTX 260 has the problems in SH4 that are generally associated with the memory being clocked too high but the card doesn't show a hint of a problem with any of my other games.

Ah great news do you think it will work with the w_clear atlantic pacific mod, thank you. Oh if you know of any mods that just dont work with atlantic pacific mod would appreciate that news. :up:

I use RFB & RSRDC w/ Real U.S. medals fix II & have glitches. I lessened the effects through tuning of the 3D settings in the Nvidia control panel but certain things still cause the visual anomalies even in the vanilla SH4 sans mods.

I'm just saying it's not the mods fault, it's the drivers & you'll have to live with it if you want to run SH4 until Nvidia specifically addresses what it is about their drivers that conflict.

My GTX 260 tears through futuremark, battlefield 2, crysis etc. all without a single hiccup; SH4 is the only game mine has trouble with & SH4 is not that taxing on a modern card.
