Switching out deck gun ammo. possible?

I want to know if its possible to switch out the ammo the crew uses when firing the deck gun. i know its possible to manually fire the deck gun and choose your ammo from there but this does not change the shells the crew fire when on their own, plus manual fire is not an option seeing frame rate sinks like a holed C3 when i try to look anywhere near the horizon....
Is there anyway i can make the crew fire AP or is it all HE all the time?

to my knowledge the crew will use whatever is the default shell type. They'll only change when that runs out. I once caught my crew firing starburst shells at a schooner. Its rather funny to see a boat sinking with 2 million candle power pinned to it's mast!

yeah, i figured as much...
can you change which shell type is loaded first or do you have to go into cfg and make either all AP or all HE?

1st Welcome Aboard Herr Kaluen! :arrgh!:

2nd if you are playing Stock SH3, if I remember correctly..its been years, just click on the corresponding shell icon in the corner of your screen when you "man" your deck gun to change ammo types.

If you are playing GWX there is only one ammo HE.

He's not playing GWX 3.0 otherwise he would know. ;)

I suggest to install GWX 3.0 and SH3 Commander. Optional I would suggest OLC Gold MkII :yep:

no go, i can hardly run stock SH3, GWX 3 just crashed over and over when i tried using it, ah well, thanks for the help people, i figured it couldnt be done

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that if you go to manual and change the shells, they'll keep firing that type of shell until you change it again.

If you are playing the stock SH3 game, in the Deck Gun screen you should see the three different types of Ammo (HE, AP and SS) if you have not edited the ammo lockers. Click on the type of ammo you want to change to, give it time to load and it should be locked and loaded.
