Probably many of you already know this web, adn I had seen it already some time ago, but some of the pictures I had not noticed yet. And they display the interior of a Type XXIII. Talk about cramped! :D

Nice photos.
It does look cramped. The one with the bunks and table between them with the cups set out really shows how narrow those things were.

:)

For sure!

I don't see how these guys could live in them things. It boggles my mind.

It like the P.O.W who would dig tunnels not any wider then the room to squeeze yourself into ,shoulder to shoulder then crawl a couple hundred yards to safety. I would go absolutely nuts. :88)

I dislike tight quarters and no way could I ever stay in one of those things. Visiting the USS Pampanito in S.F USA was more then enough for me. As much as I enjoyed it, it was a relief to see sunlight and breath fresh air.
And to be confined in a WW2 sub a couple hundred meters deep with escorts dropping barrels of fun on top of you? well again i would go :88)

Those guys were special people.

I wont zip my sleeping back all the way up when I go camping because it feels to confining. :D
