well i look in other fourms and could not find anything...

when i fly the J2M weather it be the 3 or the 5 when i get to a high altitude the engine starts to bleach two streams of gray smoke and loose a lot o' power. i messed with the super charger settings to no result.

any tips?

Reduce your fuel mixture

If it has a switchable supercharger you should switch it to the next higher position too.

Yeah, but that's just to increase performance, it doesn't fix the fuel mixture problems

It does, try it.

The problem with the mixture not burning properly is the lack of oxygen at higher altitudes. The higher blower setting will blow more air/oxygen into the burning chamber and solve the smoke problem for some altitude (at least it did in an earlier version of Il2 IIRC). If I recall the instruction movies of the P47 and F4U correctly then mixture and blower were switched together.

Just tried, and you might be right, but the effect is very little (Only changes the altitude it starts at between 6,000-6,500m, over that you have to reduce the fuel mixture)
