Quite whining about it and go do it then. It is what you want to do, so you need to put on hold whatever it is you do and go do it.

Might as well, it is not as if there is anything better to do at allmost 0500.

1. Peacekeeper on deployment
2. Soldier on deployment
3. Computer hardware technician.

Am qualified to do all three and that is the order in which i have applied to jobs, though the priority between te first two might change after one tour, then change again after another.

wrong...

go out to your local airport, find the "FBO" and get work as a "line boy" - you will be around planes all day, its not easy work, but if they offer aircraft rental you would probably get an employee discount... many airline captains and First Officers i know started their careers right there on the business end of a fuel hose.

if i had to choose another job... i guess it would be Bar tender at a classy strip joint.

This one takes some explainign but its worth it.

In the Mall of the Americans in Minnesota they have the great LEGO store which is a huge three story wonderland of statues of dinosaurs and airplanes and space ships and whatever else all made of legos.

These creations reach high up to the ceiling, while below they have these huge tables layed out with tons and tons of random lego blocks for kids to palay with while mom has a snack in the food court.

Anyhow they have these employess hired to sit at the tables and play legos all day long with these kids while mom rests.

Thats my dream job..... I dont care if its minimum wage or not.:yeah:

Too bad I dont live up there.

What could be better than throwing terrified tourists out of a small plane at 15,000 ft? Getting to jump out of the plane with them!

I know a guy who took flying lessons before he took driving lessons. He worked the flight line part-time in exchange for lessons and actually earned his private pilot certificate one month after his driving liscense.

Be happy airports don't look like this anymore and actually have paved areas.

Hoping to get a job as a conductor at the local tram. Easy, nearby and fairly good pay I've heard.

Oh and I've got no job atm, so yeah, I'd take what they'd offer:D

It is interesting to see who has dreams of something more than the most base jobs.

Americans dream fo something more, Europeans dream for something unchallenging.

I'm 18, still in school, I was talking about my current job dream, if it's me you're referring to. It'd be hard for an 18 year old with no experience regarding work to become CEO over a multi millionaire company, wouldn't it?:D

I'd really like one of my little side line gigs to take off and pay enough to do it full time-building historic / educational 1/72 scale dioramas....

Working towards my dream of owning an organic farm / homestay / hostel / wildflower exporting / carbon sink business. I manage to save 50% of my paycheck and have a few little side liners cooking too....

I'm amazed at the number of people who want railroad work. Any particular reason? I mean, it has a lot of benefits, but it is kind of boring after a while.

I myself have always been a fan of trains...

I like trains because instead of doing a job in a warehouse, or a office, you get out in the world, and if you are in the right region, there are some great sights to see... (donner {spelling}pass comes to mind.)

Also the fact of controling something as powerful as a locomotive.

Kind of fun to get around the country and get paid at the same time...:yep:

(hey underseelcp your sig is borken, neal uploaded the sig you were useing onto subsim.

I like trains, I reallly do. I bought an interrail ticket and traveled through Europe last summer, in two weeks I visited Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy. It was great, I payed a visit to Bayeux in Normandie and went to Omaha Beach sector, but my greatest memory of the entire trip was the nighttrain from Amsterdam to Milano. Took about 15 hours if I'm not mistaken, and it was maybe the best 15 hours I've had for many years. Lots to see, and friendly people too:yeah:

Regarding work, I'd like to work in a way were I meet people, I'm not a big fan of paperwork, so I'd rather work "in the field" as a conductor or something alike.

It's a shame BNSF isn't hiring now or I might be able to help you and TF hire on. If you guys still want a railroad job once the recession is over, I might be able to help. Just let me know.:salute:

Like Kapt Z, my original dream was to be a fighter pilot (air force, not navy, though). Also like Kapt Z, that dream ended when I was 10. Poor eyesight in my case as well.

If I could go back and do it all over I'd finish college and be a history teacher, then a history professor, and maybe end up as a professional historian. And no, working on it now is practically out of the question, as I don't have the money for that kind of schooling and I've reached the age where even if I did go back to school, by the time I got certified it would be time to retire.

I am looking into the possibility of being a substitute high-school teacher, though. It takes a lot less time and money to get accredited.
