It's not quite as immersive as SH3 or 4 :D

I don't know if it will attract any more people into subs.:hmmm:
I doubt it very much. but you never know. That kid playing SH3 or 4 or DW might want to get into real role playing.

You got it. AU $60k is about GBP30k for 18 months not bad money on top of your actual pay and allowances for sea time etc: http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/navy/jobs/Sailor/PayAndAllowances/

Where do I sign up!? I'll go back into subs, even if it is down under. At least I sorta speak the same language.

What's the basic pay? :hmmm:
Very cool. I think I am beyond the age they would take. Still nice to think that maybe the recruiting tool component could help get the submarine games category some more players.
Now I wonder if it could be feasible to persuade the USN to push for maintaining a public version of whatever Sonalysts and the like are currently writing for them. If the perception (or reality) of it being a good recruiting tool why not spend a minuscule amount compared to what they already do in order to require a commercial version to be completed as well. With full USN branding and all.
Screw America's Army. Get America's Submarines!
:lurk:
What's the basic pay? :hmmm:Depends on your qualifications. Entry level is only about AU$30k odd by the doco off that link.

Don't say that too loud or they will sign you up, as they are that short of staff!!

You wouldn't be the first American to make the move!

Shoot all I needed was those old black and white Silent Service T.V. shows back in the 50's. I was just ten years old, but I wanted to be on a submarine so bad I could taste it (or smell it after I reported aboard that is).
Eight years later I was mess cooking on the USS Salmon SS-573 and I went on from there to sonar on the Ethan Allen and the Sam Houston SSBN 608 and 609.
Movies are the best recruiters, but then again 60k's not too bad either.
