I'm on my second mission on a Gato class boat, and I have an issue with the video when I try to fire the AA gun. I had a similar problem on the Porpoise class boat as well, but not as bad. When I elevate the gun, the game acts as if I'm somehow behind the shield wall that surrounds the gun position, and it blocks view. View returns if i elevate higher or lower, but I have this wide band that I cannot see through! If I'm looking astern, there is no problem. The problem is only when I look to either side. Any thoughts?

Best tactic is to assign crew with high gunnery skills to shoot for you. After all, you're the captain and have better things to do.

I think someone did make a mod for the "tub" problem, though...

Me? I simply dive and sleep during the daytime hours to avoid aircraft, altogether. They don't give enough renoun to bother with, anyway.

EDIT: I think I completely skirted around your question.

It's not a video problem that you're having. Everyone has that same limited line-of-sight problem.

Does this happen when you zoom with the mouse wheel too?

....by either 1.5 or a mod. Haven't had the bathtub wall problem since using TMO but can't remember if it was sorted with the patch. Regardless, haven't seen that particular 'bug' since.:salute:

I'm playing TMO on Gold - which is 1.5 I believe. Still get the bathtub problem. I'd only want those 20mm to shoot up a sampan though so its no big loss.

I think the problem goes away when you upgrade to 40mm.

It is there but goes away if you keep the boat long enough that they redo the con tower and cut it down. You should be shooting up anyway. Like others I let my best gunner do the shooting, they are much better. Not to mention I prefer to be in the depths when planes come around.
