SH2 & Vista business aren't working together

So, I've searched the forum for info on any problems with SH2 running on a vista machine, but have only found cudo's for it. So what am I doing wrong ??
I can start the sim, get to the start campaign & briefing, but when I click the "Play" button, I get the "Screen Blanker" and all stops. This is SH2, which, according to all the cudo's about it, should run on Vista.
I'm running a Toshiba laptop, 2 Ghz+ processor, 1 gig ram, Vista Business, the latest video driver, etc.
I've set the exe to run like its on an XP, like its on a W98, and like its a DOS system, but I get the same ending, screen blanker. No errors, no reports, nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

No help from me, but if it's any consolation (which it isn't:stare:), I can't run it on Xp since I put a newer graphic card in.

I am wondering Buddahaid, what type of card did you install ?? What is the chipset ??
I have a Mobile Intel 965 Express chipset family in my laptop. Perhaps SH2 will not run on this chipset.?.
I had DC running on this not too long ago, but I prefer the sub over the surface ship, so I took DC off and want to run SH2.

Older PC with Intel 825 I think. When I changed from the ATI V550 to a Nvidia 8800GTOC SH2 and DC were broken.

Well, I don't think the Intel chips are the problem, I finally got SHII to run. the graphics are good, but I do have a slight glitch when on the bridge, nothing that isn't doable though.
