recently started playing SH3 again, and I remember once there was information as to what the medals did as far as bonuses, etc. i've been trying to find that but no luck; searching for medal info on this forum brings up a lot of threads, those that seemed relevant didn't tell me much

so does anyone know what the medals do for your crew?

iirc, the wound badge, increases resilience right?

I know in SH3 commander I would have guys on the verge of getting promoted and i would give them a reward to push it over so I can promote. That why my crew loves me. Yet I get a new crew every other day. cuase the old ones seem to die on me.

yeah i just reinstalled shcommander32, for the enabling of higher time compression in shallows/near coasts, but i don't know if i'll use the crew stuff. righ now i'd rather let the game dish out those rewards, but who knows how i'll feel about it after a while

if only there was some tooltips that explained what the medals do ....

From SH3 Community Manual (http://alexbret.perso.cegetel.net/index4875.php):

U-Boat Front Clasp - The recipient will receive a boost to resilience. Fatigue change?
Iron Cross, 2nd Class - The recipient will receive an experience boost. In my case the boost was 81xp, but this may change based on rank or current experience. Fatigue change?
Iron Cross, 1st Class - Unknown (edit) It fills the "resilience" bar to the top, so it's a better version of a Front Clasp. Not sure about affecting crew's fatigue in the future
German Cross In Gold - Requires IC (2nd and 1st). Awarding a GCIG will result in the recipient becoming immune from fatigue.
Knight's Cross - increase crew's effect on a compartment's operating efficiency

According to the Great Balz (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1123361&postcount=1), medals make one feel more heroic.
