hello,
not to say that I am missing stormy seas ;), but in January 1940 (8th patrol since august 1939) still I have to see rain, fog, thunderstorms, rough sea
since december I've been using SH3commander (waves set to seasonal), yet the weather stays calm (only cloudy sometimes) :o
should I be addressed for impatience or did I forgot something?
thanks

... just reverted to SH3 stock weather settings and the "seasonal" winter became real winter, at once
Stock Sh3 does have a bug or something in it that makes the weather get stuck into the same state. But two guys have figured out which settings can prevent that (or atleast lessen it) and afaik it is allready incorporated into GWX 3. However, the weather only changes a certain time after each save and reload. At reload that weather change timer gets reset. So, if you save your games to close together the weather engine doesn't have a chance to turn a cloudless sky into a thunderstorm. I can't remember what the interval is. Maybe someone else drops in here and does know.

I don't know the exact figures, but based on my experience in summertime the weather can change few times a day, and during the winter the weather stays the same for several days, up to a week.

now I'm figuring it out!
as a matter of fact I am saving a lot, because of several kinds of ctds, allegedly due to time compression, to old ATI card 3D drivers (probably fixed), and to screenshooting issues - ctds on vista in any way tried so far (FRAPS, prtscr key, ctlF11 not working at all...)
ok, trying to leave more space between saves...

Your complaining about good weather? I had the samething happen to me but I was stuck in a hurricane for the most part of 1940.

of course, the part of me looking for more killings likes good weather; yet the other part of me, that enjoys the immersion into the role of those forties' seamen, prefers maximum realistic environment: so a hostile ocean and underwater hardship are welcomed
