Can anyone out tell me if it's possible to change the number of hours you have to patrol in the grid ordered by h.q?I am playing the gwx3.0 version and was also wondering if anyone knew a good link to download airplanes.

so far as im aware you are not required to patrol the grid for 24 hours in GWX3 as the mod removes any renown you might receive by completing that objective.

Well if thats the case,i am still seeing the orders chart (f8) and tells me to complete patroling AO98 for 24 hrs.So now if i realy have to,do you know how to lessen the patrol hours in the files?

It may still say that in your orders screen, but GWX will neither reward you for doing so, nor penalize you in any way if you don't.

correct, the idea is that even though it shows that as your orders... there is no other way to do it in SH3 so it will still show that as your orders - but you can do what it says - or do whatever you want.

realistically, U-Boat orders were a bit more specific than "patrol grid bf15 for 24 hours and come home"

Probably because it's hard coded maybe......all renown for arriving, maintaining station and returning (the latter has never worked whether it be stock or any other version of the game) as previously stated, has been removed.

Renown is only awarded for units destroyed/sunk.

The game was originally touted as having a very specific mission assignment and a very scripted 'campaign', which we all hated in SH2. When fans complained about it they delayed the game by six months, tore out the old one and made the new dynamic career mode, to be more like Aces Of The Deep and SH1. I suspect the '24 Hours' order is a holdover from the original plan. And it doesn't say anything about "returning to base", just stay there for the required time; so even if the renown did work you wouldn't have to come home anyway.

I usually stay in my assigned grid for the entire patrol, just because it gives more historical results than running to the known kill areas. SH4, on the other hand, has you stay at a location for a required time and then radio in, at which point you are assigned a new zone, or a new mission.

Use SH3 Commander. With it you can start on the first of any month of the war. It also lets you set the number of days in base, or let it randomize them. Last time out I went on little jaunts here and there, but this time I'm starting on August first and ending the patrol immediately, then setting out on whatever date it gives me so I'm on station when the war starts on the first of September.
