Former President Jimmy Carter says he will ask the Obama administration to remove the militant Palestinian group from the U.S.-designated terror list.

Evidently that upset Hamas somehow

According to the source, the bombs were intended to hit Carter's vehicle as he exited Gaza. There is some suspicion that Hamas extremists linked to Al Qaeda may be behind the attempt.

Jimmay should go back to doing charity work and stay the hell out of world politics. The guy is clueless.

I did wonder on reading that, it seemed so strange.
So a quick visit to lots of other sources carrying the same story , including my favourite crazy extremist settler mouthpiece....and none of them mention that little nugget.
It must just be a suspicion Fox has.

But anyway fair play to Carter , continuing to work on his one major achievement.

BTW where are the topics from every time democrat and republican politicians actually propose bills to remove terrorist groups from the terrorist list so they can re-open their their terrorist fundraising offices in the US?

You mean this?

Carter said he feels personally responsible that American weapons were used to fight in Gaza Strip last year, when Israeli Defense Forces entered the strip to stop the launch of rockets from there into Israel.

I love how upset Hamas are getting. They seem like a noisy child who gets even more noisy and mischievous if you ignore it :yep:

Good one! :haha:

Carter is an extreme idealist, that'S why I find it difficult to say a bad thing about him. However, his demand is absurd.

I hope Obama does not end up like him: being labelled an "extreme idealist". Ideals alone mean nothing, and even can do harm, if they ignore realities.

Methinks poor Jimmy's getting a bit senile in his old age. :-?

He knows what he's doing...because he handled foreign affairs so well as President. :shifty: ::Cough:: Like his policies on Iran ::Cough::

Well many on the left consider him just that...an idealist.

Could be , after all the deal he brokered did mean that Israel got much more access to weapons at US taxpayers expense , and unlike the other partner in the deal Israel is free to spend that money elsewhere . At least the taxpayers money that goes to Egypt to buy weapons all goes back to subsidise American industry.

Well done with the JP link , you can try any of the Isreali or palestinian media sources ...none of them make the silly claim Fox did .

And never forget the Republican's deal with the country's archenemy not to release the hostages so soon that Carter could benefit from it during elections. that was clever politics, wasn'T it!

Even during the last hpurs of his precedency, Carter tried to get them out. I wonder if he knew that his opponent was not only sitting in Teheran, but Washington, too.
