I've been away a while. Reloaded SH3, GWX3 and SHIIICmdr and proudly selected a random commander for my first Uboot in 2 years.

Everything loads and works. I finally see the message "not so long ago . . ." and my command room comes up after a wait. I'm in business. I hit F4 to hear the band and for a quick look around to load the graphics (that much I remember) and off I go in my shiny new IXb from Flot 2. Leaving port, I arrange my crew to my liking, check my torpedo load out and sit back to enjoy.

Soon, I'm in the open sea heading north. I'm off to Norway looking for prey. The invasion is due and I seem to remember a lot of excitement can be found in April 1940 in and around Norway. North of the coast three ships are coming fast from the southwest behind me and the weather is rough. This will be a challenge. Yeah!!!

In high seas, in dawns early light I find myself in position after a high speed run. 81% realism means some fast toggling between officers and the launch button. 4 torpedoes at 1000 meters for 3 hits on a tanker and 2 medium cargoes. They all slow down so I know my hits hurt. One is sinking, two need more attention so I move in for the kill . . . .

and notice the Nazi flag.

Seems I stopped the invasion of Narvik cold. My wife doesn't understand why I'm laughing and probably thinks I'm insane.
Dad blummit I missed playing this game (with GWX).

Well Jay,
Welcome back, but I'm sure BDU is not going to be happy with the outcome. I'm sure that if your wife realized you were laughing hestericaly because you were on your way to the "Stalag", she might be more sympathic

You better defect to the British. They'll welcome you as war hero. :D

Vacate the area very quickly, "lose" the logbook pages, and swear your officers to secrecy. :shifty:

"Honest Admiral. We were not even in the vicinity. The ships must have run into an uncharted minefield." :salute:

I've come close to sinking a friendly around the same time. A German ore carrier came within seconds of having eels launched before I identified the flag in the dark.
