commad gave me the task of lifeguarding downed pilots in hte solomon sea, for the past several days i've been in the area, (even in the star area) and have picked up atleast 6 or 7 pilots, how do i get my objective to be completed? do i have to wait till the date dec 5 on my orders to show up on station? It's Nov 21st 1942 for me

I looked at both Solomons Guard missions and you should have to rescue 5 pilots for your star to turn grey and you mission to complete.

It seems to be as peabody says for me after you pick up a certain amount of airmen the star will turn gray. Though you could keep on picking them up as long as they showed up. I got a lifeguard in the Solomans right in Iron Bottom Sound picked up 5 or 6 airmen and then another lifeguard mission below Bouganville and picked up 5 or 6 more there so I picked up alomst 20 airmen in 48 hours if I include the ones i grabbed after the stars turned gray.

Best I can recall it was 5 or 6 pilots... then the star cleared... not a time thing.

I have no idea why they have that silly date crap anyway it is usualy about 3 months from the date you start the patrol in. And they planned out these life guard missions in advance the aircrews where told to try to get to ceratin areas if they had troubles no sub would be sittng in an area where an air attack had been performed months berfore.:har:

i've ben picking theseguys off like a turkey shoot, if for some reason i don't get this objective completed will command be very pissed IE, like losing my command of my fine vessl, lol

Hated this mission, even when I got it I would just ignore it.
