Hey guys,
After 4 yrs, I am back at checking out SH3 again. its still soo much fun. :)
I was finding some ol mods I used to use... AIL's particle mod etc etc.
BTW....I remember there used to be some great harbor mods. I am using one friendly harbor mod..but is that it? I know there was a lot more traffic.
Anyways...coming to the bug.
I noticed that when the sub or even any ship is in reverse...there is NO FX on the water surface....i.e., no wake and no foam from the ships. But when they move forward..I can see the foam and wake. Is this a known bug??

FInally got an image convertor. Here is what I am talking about....
notice the speed..... and notice the presence of NO WAKE or NO FOAM from the boat.

Welcome back, you sound like me, I quit playing for 4 years due to kids being born and other family things but a few months ago I started playing again. GWX is great and Jimbuna has been a tremendous help & source of information.

THanks! I tried GWX 3. But just a personal opinion but I hate the smoke effects that mod changed. I also personally don't like the textures. Its just a matter of taste, but the tex in GWX 3 look too new. I like the worn out look of the stock SH3 tex. I was also being annoyed by all the pop ups on the screen when I move the mouse to the edges in panic to get to the control dials or the various station shortcut panels. Basically due ot all this...I have removed GWX3. I am currently running the following mods:
Ail Dials mod
Ail Sky mod2
UboatReflections_v2.0_cablefix
AIL Particles mod
LifeBoats&Debris_v4
Harbor&Terrain_Expansion_MOD
Harbour_Traffic_1.43_subnets&minefields
Ail navigation map mod
SH3 Flag mod
But do u also notice this bug?? No ship wake or sub wake when going in reverse on the surface?? I am running the game on a 256 MB NVIDIA geforce 6800 go, 2 GB RAM, 1920 x 1200, 1.83 Intel mobile centrino in an Inspiron 9300.

It's not a bug per say.
All wakes work off a forward motion of a given unit.
There are several ways possible to correct the missing
reverse waves.

I couldn't help but notice that you were in dock (Lorient) I presume and noticed your messages. Tube One Ready and a "Friendly Ship Sunk". Soooo.....Target Practice in Port? I don't think BDU will take too kindly to this act of treason

LOL! yeah! I wanted to see how "dynamic" the harbor traffic mod is. I wanted to see if ships actually move away. LOL! On top of that...I was testing out a couple different smoke mods. So I wanted to see smoke + see if the harbor mod was indeed working. So...that was the easiest thing to do....fire off a torpedo right from the dock. :p And yeah...the AIL smoke mod still looks awsome. :D
