View Full Version : Spider problem

I have a slight spider problem in my little kingdom. It seems that where ever I look, there's a farking spider there. Here's an example, I went to take a dump few hours back and there was this large-ish spider in the corner of the opposing wall, I killed it and got rid of the small web it had built there. Right, I just went for a pee pee and in the same darn spot there was this huge ass spider, atleast 3 times as big as the last one. And last night, as I was happily drunk, speaking with Hunter on MSN, this one arsehole climbed to my PC table, almost had a heartattack ffs. Any tips on how to get rid of them or atleast lessen their numbers? :hmmm:

Ow, and I HATE THOSE ****ING THINGS!

Reminds me of one time I hear a shreak from the kitchen.

My wife is on her toes pointing at the floor where a spider about the size of your thumb was crawling accross the floor.

Pfffft I thought to myself reached out and stomped and squished the spider.

The spider erupted into thousands of tiney little spiders crawling everywhere. It was like something out of a horror movie.

I searched desperatly and quickly for a can of bug spray but found none. So I sprayed with a can of spray oil "PAM" which slowed the pinpoint sized off spring till I could mash em all and wipe em up.

Almost assuredly some escaped. :rotfl:

Just dont do what some guy in Miami did and attack the webbing with a blow torch and burn your house down ! :o

Sounds weird but spiders do not like things like nice smelly candles or strong air fresheners. I used to get them in my basement until the wife started burning the candles that make a fragrance. It helps to vacuum once a week also Dowly:shifty:

I dont hate the little gits, but i hate the mess they make....THUMP! ''what was that i shout downstairs'' ''nothing, just a spider'' she shouts back. I go downstairs and there's a three inch thick phone directory lying in the middle of the floor with a tiny little spider underneath spread out to about 6'' in diameter.

Here we do not have big hairy spiders runing around the house divisions, etc. Mainly, just small ones etc. I let them go freely, since they eat mosquitos, so during the summer times, i can sleep! Also, centipede or zool (term that my englsish dictionary give me to the bug I want to talk) can run normally in my home, the same reason! If they can escape my cats...

Quietly step outside where you have pre-positioned some gasoline and matches. Splash the gasoline at all exit points, doors, windows, chimney, etc, etc. Then without delay set your house or apartment ablaze. That should take care of your spider problem.

There's a slllight problem with that... I live in a flat. :haha:

Anyone got any idea, if same or similar methods work on spiders as for ants? We had quite a big antproblem where I lived as a kid and salt or saltwater seemed to keep them away. :hmmm:

This is completely true. I live in the middle of an old-growth forrest, and the place is teeming with little nasties. A few years back, a friend of mine reccomended using scented candles, and I can attest to the fact that they, and other creepy crawlies, absolutely hate the scent. For the last few years I have been, largely, bug-free.

In my old house from when I was a teenager ages ago, we had these four foot high bushes out on either sides of our porch. One day, in the summer, I walked out the door and the bush on the right side of the door was in a coccoon !! There, sitting on top, prominently was this HUGE wood spider. It was at least 4 1/2 to 5 inches long from end to end. Living in Connecticut, I had NEVER seen a spider so big. This thing could have taken down mice !! It seemed to work on the bush every night and was pretty industrious with it. There was always new tunnels and passages popping up and it spent the day sittling in it's typical spot right on top of the bush sunning itself. We called it "Betha".
The coccooned bush remained for that summer getting more and more coccooned until winter. Then, the next year, the bush got cocccconed again and the giant was back.
The third year, it didn't come back though.

It was completely freaky seeing the entire bush wrapped up like that in the span of one night. You could only see a few branches sticking out. It must have been exhausting work for the thing, not to mention all the silk the thing had to poop out.

Sometimes a spider can be your friend.
Ages ago when I was a teenager I was visiting my GF. She was very cute but her older sister was a stone fox. GF and I were sitting on the couch when sister walked in. She saw a small spider on the floor and screamed and jumped onto the fireplace harth and for some reason pulled her dress up over her head. Nice view.
Karen and I broke up when she found me trapping spiders.

Well in Lithuania we say that spiders brings luck to your house and you shouldn't kill them :) Of course except when their population gets out of control you start to feel out-dominated in your own home :)

I live in a flat too and had a problems with cockroaches in the kitchen year and a half ago.

There were lots of them, especially at night :x My own efforts to kill them all was kind of poor, since I only managed to decrease their population instead of killing them all. I remember I even got a nightmares to dream that dozens of cockroaches are crawling on my bed :timeout:

One day I lost my nerve and called a pest control service for help.
They quickly did a job for good. From that time I never saw any of those awfull looking bugs :)
