Hello, I have two questions.

I'm playing GWX3.0 and in my current campaign it's still august 1939. Now, it's still peace and I'm planning to locate the british battleships before the war starts. The problem is that I can't find them. I've checked Scapa Flow (where Günther Prien destroyed a battleship in september '39) but still no luck. Anyone know where to look in order to find the pre-war bases of the battleships?

My other question concerns the U-Boat Front Clasp - somehow my men never recieve it. I completed more than 20 patrols in my last campaign and none of my men were awarded the clasap (and stlll they got plenty of iron crosses). Is this a special bug in GWX?

Many thanks in advance.

Try Gibraltar,Portsmouth,Plymouth for a start. If ypu use SH3 Commander then you will be able to really fine tune the crew with regards to Awards and Skills.

I've checked Scapa Flow (where Günther Prien destroyed a battleship in september '39) but still no luck.

Just to be painfully pedantic, Prien's raid was on October 14th, 1939.

A good place to wait for battleships is the western approaches to Scapa. A lot of transfers occur between Holy Loch and Scapa via the North Channel and you can often catch them as it's a small-ish area. Just don't go too far into the channel as it is mined.

Battleships also often take the convoy routes between Britain and Gibraltar.

I left on Patrol on early Sept. 3 and was on the western part of Scapa Flow on or around Sept. 4 or Sept. 5 when I ran into a task force that appeared to be racing in from Iceland. BC Hood was followed by 2 other Battle Cruisers. I was able to sink the Hood and then fought for my life with 3 destroyers but survived. I know these aren't battleships but it might be something to consider.

Wonderful! Thanks for the replies. I shall set out to find me a cruiser or a battleship. I'm still unable to solve the front clasp problem though - does that award appear later in the war?

Essex Class Carrier off Florida, heading south toward Panama Canal, Around 1944.

Lots of Battleships in Med. It seem to travel from Alexandria, to the South West of Crete, Then south towards the African coast, then back to Alexandria. The travel pretty fast though.

I'm not sure what exactly GWX has done to the medal availability, as I use SH3 Commander, but historically the front clasp wasn't awarded until 1944.
