I'm assuming someone out there makes a defrag utility better than the one included with Windows (I run Vista 64). Anyone care to enlighten me?

I've been using a program called Ultimate Degfrag on my Windows 7 RC1 x64. It's free, and it seems to do a better job. At least it has more options than the default Windows one, like the ability to move specific directories and files to different spots on the drive.
This one still runs from within Windows so it's not perfect. Ideally I believe you'd want one that runs before the OS is loaded.

Used Disk Defrag (http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag) in the past. Think it's pretty basic, but worked well enough.

I've had good luck with DISKEEPER. Fast and Free :DL
Here's one that you can try: http://kessels.com/JkDefrag/index.html. I use it on both of my pcs & it works quite well. It's free & doesn't have a "nag screen" or trial period. It works best if you have CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/ installed. Tip: if you get the CCleaner utility download the slim version in the Other Builds section. The standard version contains the Google Toolbar (the slim build doesn't have this).

I've been using Smart Defrag for a while ... http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html . Seems ok and is free.
My recommendation is to get the entire IOBIT suite. It is free and does a great job at maintaining Windows all the way around.

LOL
I recently heard why MS ditched that view... because some people would defrag again and again, just because of a few sectors...
