Our Pacific neighbour has been named the most peaceful country on earth in the latest Global Peace Index, an annual ranking of 144 nations on the basis of how peaceful they are.:o

I find that amazing maybe we are but i wouldn't say the most peaceful might sound like nothing compared to the USA but here we have on average 1 homicide a week, when i was a kid growing up in the 1970s there was 1 homicide every couple of years! And here's me thinking we're becoming a violent nation. :hmmm:

Maybe I need to harden up!

I have had the opportunity to visit New Zealand as a guest in 1969. I was aboard the WWII Sub USS Segundo SS-398. As we tied up to the pier in Auckland, there was a policeman waiting for a chance to see the Sub. Having to stand the watch that evening I gave him a tour of the Boat. We were leaving the next day for extended exercises with the New Zealand Navy.
Upon returning he was waiting on the pier to give me a tour of his fine city. I can tell you as an American, that I was very proud of the people of New Zealand. They treated me and my crew members with the utmost respect and showed us the best of times. The college kids were against the Vietnam War, but the older folks and I say that with respect, were so happy to tell us Thanks for helping them through WWII......
I went on a ride along with that Policeman and he received a "Man with a Shotgun" call. We responded but didn't find the suspect, and the Policeman didn't even have a gun!......Having been an LAPD Officer I can tell you New Zealand is 1,000 times safer than L.A.......A place paradise I would like to visit again.......

Nothing much has changed. they had an ice addict on the run for a couple of months before they got him! He had even been driving around in a stolen vehicle with personalized number plates for a week leading up to his arrest!

Just do a search for "Billy the hunted one" on the web to find him, at least you'll be quicker than the police!
