Hey all of you skinners out there I need your help. I want to make some custom skins for IL-2, but I use a program called Gimp. I understand how to make templates and basic skins but I can't get them to show up in the game. Can someone with skinning experiance that uses Gimp help me?

Gimp, Gimp, Gimp...Ah, I have Gimp too
I believe all you have to do is go to Image -> Mode -> Indexed..., leave the options as they are (I'm...pretty sure) then save it as a BMP in the right folder
I'm not exactly sure if that works, as I use Photoshop, but most chances are it will
I dont use gimp, but your end results should be 1024x1024 and in bitmap resulting in a file size of 1 mb

I think I once heard that the skins have to be 8bit files. Can anyone verify this? :hmm2:
